And so who's telling you to buy their pizza? Oh that's right. The good
"professor" Jonez-bot supports ANY company that helps do it's part to
disarm potential victims and promote job safety for criminals.

Does anyone here think for a nanosecond that Pizza Hut (or any other
company that forbids carry by employees) will in ANY way support the
family or medical expenses of anyone injured on the job due to
criminal attack? Does such an "uncaring" two faced outfit deserve
ANYONE'S support? Not any more than "uncaring" two-faced Jonez-bot
does.

A guy told me the other day about a cab company he drove for in Richmond, VA years ago. Basically, the same policy. They could not carry a ball bat, tire tool or anything else that could be considered a weapon, but had to have a very good excuse (i.e. a paying customer already on board) for not stopping for anyone who tried to flag them, even if the "customer" was standing on a street corner with a shotgun in one hand and a bank bag in the other! :-(

He quit the same night a certain incident occurred which is for another time.

Yep, and you will note that these companies NEVER take responsibility for
their employees when harmed or killed because of their policy.

I wonder if you could file an OSHA claim against them for failing to provide
a safe working enviroment?????

Somehow I doubt it, but since safety is priority number one, and they are
prohibiting you the means to insure your safety I wonder if a case couldn't
be made?

Certainly I've seen cases won on considerably less.

The "certain incident" mentioned above goes like this. One night about two o'clock he had to take three passengers into a pretty rough neighborhood. Two of them were very large and one was medium large, while the driver was a fairly small man. He had to go down a long hill with a railroad track near the bottom and then go up a long hill. As he approached the railroad a train came so he had to stop. While the train was passing the smaller of the three guys, sitting in the middle in the back slid up on the seat and asked him what he'd do if he felt cold steel on his back (or in the back of his neck) and he knew the very last thing he was to do was show he was afraid though his knees were knocking. He replied, "If you want to know what I'd do you'll just have to try me and see!" The kid slid back onto the seat and he took them where they wanted to go. That very night he quit - before his shift was over.

I just happened to think as I wrote this, probably the thing to do if he got cut or shot would be floorboard the cab and take all three of them right into the train! Perhaps they realized this as a possibility! ;-) But then some lie-yer would sue the cab company and this man's estate, if he got killed - otherwise him, and the three dudes who attempted the armed robbery, if they survived, might wind up rich or their families in their place if they got killed. I wouldn't sit there and bleed to death while they took what little money I had and escaped. I suspect one could angle the vehicle into the side of the train so the opposite side of the car got the worst of the deal - along with the occupants of the opposite side of the vehicle.

Tough call!

The fat pimply-faced 30-ish loser who delivers my pizza - you think I want

my home?!? Oh hell no.

Are you fucking insane? Have you seen the half-wits that usually are
delivering pizza, not teenagers, but well in to adulthood? We're talking
someone whose judgement is at a level that delivering pizza for a living
seems like their best option. That level of judgement. And you want that
guy packing nine rounds of 9 mm ammo near your home?!?!

Give me a break, I'm barely good with that guy even driving a car on public
streets, much less packing. We're talking someone who hasn't made too many
smart choices so far, and you want their next choice to put you and yours in
line to catch a bullet? Ohhhh hell no.

They are employees, not independent contractors, therefore they participate
in their state's disability insurance program (it's mandatory). The
employer pays in as well.

Therefore they will support the family and medical expenses of injured
employees.

But in a larger sense, there are government organizations to assist victims
of crime, that is the appropriate venue.

The policy is purely to protect the company from a lawsuit in the
event you shoot an innocent person. Or hell, even a completely guilty
bad guy who will try to sue someone anyway.

All this b.s. about "employee safety" is P.R. window dressing. The
company you work for doesn't give a shit about you or your family.

The issue numbnuts, is not "wanting to carry", the issue is a company
taking responsibility for the effects of its policies. You of all
people know that the Liberal Goal is to "prevent" crimes rather than
just deal with them once they occur the way police do. Therefore, if a
company sends a bunch of unarmed helpless kids out into the bad
neighborhoods carrying money trolling the streets for robbers, they
are far from "preventing' crimes. In fact we can argue they are
PROMOTING violence! They are PROMOTING "gun crimes" (robbers want an
advantage over even unarmed victims) with these policies. This is
about like banks leaving the vault doors open all weekend long while
they are closed. But somehow all the anti-gun media sees this
trolling for crimes as somehow being a step that "prevents" "gun
crime"! Even "reality check" can figure this one out. The issue is
NOT other employers doing the RIGHT thing, the issue is Pizza Hut
promoting death by gun for it's employees! And then refuses to take
responsibility for the injuries their policies have caused.

Um that would be a "Democrat" kind of American, numbnuts!
(This year: independent voting Democrat in primary JUST to stick it to
Hillary!)

And here's the difference between Democrats and other parties.
Democrats believe that EVERYONE who isn't in public power (and that
includes company managers setting policy) are WAY too dumb to decide
anything for themselves. Therefore, one needs those in power
(government) to set all manner of laws and rules about lead and
mercury and asbestos and height of coat hangers, and guns on campus
and you name it. Basically if you don't have a rule for EVERY aspect
of life, then Dems think people will just abuse that freedom and ruin
things for all of us! Now you've got me wondering what the Democrats
have in the hopper just waiting for Billary to win the White House?
Probably something about allowed sexual positions...

Mark this one in the books! Reality-check has made a cogent statement for a
change! As much as some of us would like to fantasize about being able to
"carry everywhere", employers do still have it within their power to deny it
on the job. We can hope that Pizza Hut will change it's policies, and let
people carry, but in the mean time you're also free to work somewhere else.

It is true pizza hut has a corporate policy against employees being
armed, including guns, knives, etc. They do this for liability
purposes. They do not want to be sued by the families of dead
criminals. That being said, I worked in management for pizza hut for
12 years and I do not know a single delivery driver or even area
supervisor who was not armed when they were working. They all had the
basic idea that one can always find another job. Just my 2.5 cents
adjusted for inflation.

I am unsurprised at the attitude you describe above, but it would
seem highly unlikely that EVERYONE working as a pizza driver
(not a high income occupation) can AFFORD to own a firearm
so if the above it true it likely included a lot of small pocket knives.

drivers make decent money and that is usually not their only job/
source of income. one does not have to carry a $2000 custom 1911.
around here you can buy a brand new ruger for about 300.
