First, a little remark: This ISN'T a Transformers review, but it's
more about robots that could be called 'bad but cool Transformers
imitations'. This is a review about 2 Motobots (made by MC-Toy),
robots that have a little pull-back motor in both robot and vehicle
mode, and, of course, they have die-cast parts! Therefore, they are
cool.

Now onto the review:

REVIEW:

MOTOBOTS - Transformers imitations

1) Flatbed truck,
2) Pick-up.

I picked these up at a local flea-market, in near mint condition.
Considering that they haven't been sold here for at least 5 years and
that they are quite easily trashed (especially the later runs), this
is quite a find.

1) Flatbed truck Motobot (I don't know if they have any names - if so,
please enlighten me.):

Vehicle mode: This Motobot's vehicle mode is a flatbed truck. It is
colored orange, with dark transparent blue windows, a black and silver
truck bed, silver and red fuel/oil tanks, red wheels and knobby tires.
The cab is partially die-cast. Due to the height of the truck bed this
could better be called a dump-truck, but it is a flatbed truck (the
truck bed becomes the robot legs). It's about 7.9 cm (3.11 inches)
long, 3.5 cm (1.34 inches) wide, and 3.6 cm (1.42 inches) high. By
pulling the truck backwards and releasing, it will roll forwards
(pull-back motor).

Transformation: Pull out the legs, remove the pull-back motor, fold
out the robot arms, and pull out the robot head. Finally, attach the
pull-back motor to the back of the legs.

Robot mode: The robot mode is quite awfull: it looks like a
zombie-robot with sunglasses. Still, it has 5 points of articulation,
which is more than some G1s. It has the same color scheme as in truck
mode, with a grey face and grey upper legs. It is well proportioned
(no arms that stick out just above the legs, no kibble). The face has
a visor (shaped like sunglasses), a nose, and a mouth. It is about 9.7
cm (3.82 inches) tall and 6.5 cm (2.56 inches) wide. Pull back the
robot and it will roll forwards. Simple, but cool.

2) Pick-up truck Motobot:

Vehicle mode: As said above, this Motobot's vehicle mode is a pick-up
truck. It is colored yellow with red and black stripes and a red and
blue truck bedand dark transparent blue windows. It has red wheels
with slicks and is clearly a race truck, as it has written 'turbo',
'Race Team' Kevin Black racing engines', etc. on it. Part of the front
is made of die-cast metal. It is about 8 cm (3.15 inches) long, 3.3 cm
(1.3 inches) wide and 3.1 cm (1.22 inches) high. It has the same
gimmick as the flatbed truck.

Transformation: Pull out the robot legs (truck bed), remove the
pull-back motor, fold out the arms and flip out the robot head. Attach
the pull-back motor to the back of the legs.

Robot mode:This one's robot mode is not much better than the flatbed
truck Motobot's robot mode. It looks a little less zombie-like, but
isn't that fantastic either. This Motobot has 5 points of articulation
in robot mode and bassically has the same color scheme as in pick-up
truck mode, the only differnce being that it has silver, red, and
black colored stickers on its arms. It has a grey face with 2 eyes, a
nose and a mouth, and grey upper legs. It is about 9.3 cm (3.66
inches) tall and 7.2 cm (2.83 inches) wide. It has the same gimmick as
the other Motobot.

Conclusion: If you need some drones for your Transformer army, use
these, as they're available several different colors for the same
mold.
