I know that there was a BW script written called 'Dark Glass'. But
Hasbro never allowed Mainframe to have it made into an episode because
it was deemed "too dark".
Anyways, does anyone know if you could get the script for it? I'd
appreciate any info. Thanks.

Somebody made a comic that is intended to be a close idea of what the
episode was meant to be, and they did it 3d rendered no less.
Its not too bad.
Forget the URL though....

Our own Zobovor made efforts to have the script made
available by its writer (Christy Marx, I seem to recall), if
I remember that correctly. He even initiated a petition for
it to be released (many added their name to it, including
yours truly), but, sadly, it didn't come to be.

Not too likely. Hasbro won't allow Christy Marx to release the script to the
public. Last year I collected around 530 signatures and petitioned Hasbro to
give Ms. Marx permission to make the script available, but never heard from
them. There was a debacle over the Men In Black (organizers of BotCon '96)
claiming that they would have the script available at their TransCon
convention, but it turns out they didn't get the proper clearance for it and
Hasbro more or less cracked down on script distribution as a result. :P

I think you're missing part of the saga on this, Zob. Maybe this info
came out during one of your hiatuses, but didn't Larry tell us that there
*is* no script? At least not a full one. The episode never got past an
outline/treatment stage. And, also, despite the rumors about it being cut
for being "too dark", he also said that Claster simply thought it didn't
have enough action and excitement. Too cerebral, not too scary. (After
all, it's a kids' show.) Maybe some of that came from a BotCon panel,
rather than a post from Bob 'n Larry... can anybody back me up, here? In
its current state, Deja isn't locating *any* posts by LARRYBW or BEASTBOB,
so I can't check myself...

Found it the other day... it's pretty good, but the dialogue's a little corny
in parts. Still, definitely worth a read.

No, it definately made it through the first draft stage of a full script
treatment. No revisions or editing, though. What *we* got from Larry,
via Joona, was an outline/summary.

Correct.

And I'm not going to drag up once again the whole nasty business with
TransCon...

Boy, it sure would be a shame if she "lost" it, or if someone "stole" it, now
wouldn't it?

Yes, a damn shame.

I was in correspondence with Christy Marx back when I was petitioning Hasbro.

She's still got a copy of the first draft of the script, but she doesn't want
to tangle with Hasbro over distrubution rights since they technically own the
rights to it. From what I understand, she's fully willing to disseminate the
script to the public if Hasbro gives her the go-ahead.

I seem to remember that some people were clamoring for Mainframe to release the
work that they did on the episode until Larry DiTillio pointed out that the
episode never made it to the animation stage. Could that be what you're
thinking of? In any event, the script exists. :)

Zobovor... I wonder what it would take to get Hasbro to say "yes," anyway?
It's not like the fandom getting their hands on the story would hurt Hasbro in
any way...

Maybe money would change their minds... I could go as high as $10... if
everyone that signed the petition chipped in ten bucks, we could offer
them five grand for the right to publish the script on the internet...

Túrin

Like *that'll* happen.

Actually, Larry didn't say anything that I can recall about there being a
script or not, but he DID give us an outline, which Joona fished out of
him and posted IIRC.

As I recall, the guy from Mainframe (who's name I forget) claimed at
BotCon that there wasn't a script but I was under the impression that he
only said that because he was tired of hearing about it.

MIB did indeed have the script, I read it! Dennis Barger made some back room
deals with a few of us to obtain copies, he stalled and stalled...in short I
never got mine. i think he screwed alot of people.

Maybe just some time? In a year or two they might give her the go ahead.

Stickshift. Or not...

Well, there IS the possibility of a lot more fanboys whining "why didn't you
do this script instead of 'Go With The Flow'?!?!? U suk!!!" should it get
released...
