Were the Insecticons part of on of the earlier, piloted lines? the
chest compartments were just about the right size for the Capsella pilots
that came with some of the space sets. (Capsella was one of those modular
building systems, the main units were spheres with six hexagonal
connectors. The pilots were about 3/4 inch tall and had simple joints at
the shoulders and hips).

Spacecase repaints as Spectre, Cutlass, and Phantom, all original
characters. Spectre is tan and silver with light blue trim, and can turn
intangible (like a hologram). Phantom can turn invisible. Cutlass is
tougher, and has a piar of swords in addition to the integral weopons, and
is the best in a knock down/drag out brawl with better armor and a piar of
smal energy-absorbant force sheilds that manifest on the forearms. Wow,
this is a long Quote.

More suggestions? I'll probably edit them a bit, but the original idea gets credited
Don't worry, this spoogey .sig will be gone when the Olympics are over
No, the Insecticon designs came waaaaay before Capsela (I received my 1st
Capsella set 10 years ago). The chest compartments, like the Dinobots and other
TFs, come from a Japanese toy line known as Diaclone. They had little plastic
men with magnetic feet. They would pilot these non-sentient robots to combat
evil alien forces. Pretty neat...
P.S> I am in the process of obtaining Chinese-dubbed Diaclone cartoons, and
we'll have more info once I see them...

That's what I was asking about, the Capsela pilots were only
mentioned because they fit and so could be assumed to be about the same
size as the original pilots.
