I'm compiling a list of Transformers sightings in non-tf shows,
movies, music, books etc. (I've just added the TF sighting cameo
mention in Matthew Reilly's latest novel 'The 5 Greatesr Warriors')
I'd like ppl to e-mail me with sightings big or small (other than the
ones listed in the link below) that I've already compiled. I'll
credit you by your handle when next I update. Thanks!
I'm guessing there will be some more now that the francchise and
movies have taken off again.
The ones I already have are here http://seawave.fortunecity.com/tfsight.htm
Happy sighting! (Any updates and corrections/additions to entries I
already have welcome also)
Thanks

there's this one song I keep hearing on the radio.
the song keeps mentioning the words "more than meets thee eye."
the song is about a rich girl & poor boy having a chrush on each other
in high school.
the rich girl listens to her friends on ignores the poor boy. years
later the poor boy became a rock star living off his guitar. the rich
girls friends call her & they all go to a rock concert to see the poor
boy playing on stage in a rock band.
"Sk8r Boi" by Avril Lavigne? (Yes, I know that's not how you spell
Skater Boy but that's how I've seen the title spelled).
t.k.
Yes that's the song title.
Interestingly, the song's sung from the perspective of a girl who sees
herself as the current girlfriend of the rock star in question, and spends
the song telling the previous girl that ha ha, she had her opportunity and
blew it.
However, if you listen carefully, there's no indication anywhere in the
song that the guitar player in question actually sees the singer as his
girlfriend at all, that the previous girl is at all unhappy with her
decision, or that the guitar player won't still want to date the original
girl.
It all sounds rather self-delusional, to be honest - as if by singing
about it, the singer can make the world confirm to her view of events. For
all we know, she's a fangirl groupie that the guitar player doesn't even
know exists.

Why is a shitty teenybopper pop song from seven years ago playing
repeatedly on the radio at your gym?

The name of the page is a hoot. "The Siege" was 1998, not
1988 as listed.

The sk8r boi even made a song about the girl he once loved in high
school who ignored him later on.
Yeah, sorry, instinces of actual Transformers in shows like how the
kid is playing with G1 Soundwave & Grimlock in "Soul Man" ect.
Thanks for the Family Guy Ref!

Eep, that was probably an evil typo, I'll get on it. Thanks for
alerting me.
Good thinking, 99 :)

There was a song that came out about 8 years ago called "Because I got
High" by Afroman in which he wears a t-shirt with the Decepticon logo on
it. Here's a link to the video on youtube.

primustf - who actually thought the video/song was quite amusing when it
first came out.
ALso, Are there any newer sightings also with the new movies out, I'd
imagine there'd be more references with the new stuff also.
Thanks, guys for your help!

Welcome to teenage girlhood, the in-crowd version.
The NZ group's name is spelled "Deceptikonz". They used to use the
Decepticon insignia, but it looks like they're using a heavily
modified version now. Probably got a cease and desist from Hasbro. :)

Also in NZ, we have Optimus Gryme: http://www.optimusgryme.co.nz/
I do not know if Optimus Gryme and the Deceptikonz have ever done
battle, however!

Found another one for you. It's a new commercial for the Discovery
Channel. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0jZzBEKIMc (it's about half way
through)

It's fun, Trans Spotting! ;)
