off-topic: PHP Tutorial?

My weekend has been shot to hell because I've been frustrated to no
end trying to learn PHP. Damn it, I can connect to a MySQL database
just fine, but when comes to reading and writing to it I'm at a loss.
I don't know how many databases I've created and blown away, just this
Saturday trying to learn.
Any of you know any good Websites or books? I mean, they've got to
explain this as simply as possible. Break it down so a child could
comprehend it.
Beacause I suck. I really suck at this PHP stuff.

Nevermind. I work better at night.
Suddenly, as I was staring at the code I wrote just
hours earlier, a light went on in my brain (that's right,
my brain) and I had this "Eureka!" moment.
My variables were all screwed up. And the POST method
was just wrong. Once I realized where I was off, I fixed
it and I now have a simple PHP blog running on my site.
I wrote it all myself. I'm awesome.
Now... If I can just migrate it into my Transformers
blog I'd have something cool and dynamic, that's all
my own.
That would be even more awesome.
I'm kind of on a sugar high. I should probably stop eating
all this candy I've been shoving down my throat.
Back to my PHP!
