Starscream. Scary, isn't it? The idea of Starscream, Megatron's eternal
nemesis, being stuck in Megatron's ATB rear-end makes me shudder...

I had a thought on this thing, if it had ever been a reality. Megatron
and Starscream could have combined to form the superjet - Megascream or
Startron. Personally, Megascream would've been the best name. And
imagine the personality!

Funny as this is, I thought that the Dreadwing ATB was more of A

jet would offer anything to the bigger one in plane mode, but he could
do alot for him as aerial support while he is in tanks mode.

That was how I thought it worked too, as a matter of fact, but
without any corroboration I didn't want to say so. The other consideration
in this is that they're both supposed to be stealth aircraft, but Dudwing
looks more effective at it (lame is he is in either other mode) so it
would make sense to have Smoky be hidden inside his lack-of-signature than
separate. After all, it's surely easier to spot two weak radar returns
than one.

-Drogn, who thinks Smokescreen was
worth the $9.95 he paid for the two of them, which is good since Dudski
was such a dissapointment

I didn't say that Smokescreen merged with Dreadwing. It had just occurred
to me that maybe the two could've been merged to form a superjet that
would've combined the best of the two.

Funny thing here... there IS such a thing as a Megatron ATB,
unfortunately there's only one, and someone bought it at botcon for
something like $800, from what I heard.

If memory serves me correctly, at the BotCon 96 Toys-For-Tots Auction, it
was said that the Megatron ATB at the con was one of 12 confirmed, with a
possibility of a 13th somewhere.

Course, this still means that if we ever see one again it'll have a pretty
hefty price tag attached to it, most likely.

Actually, it was mentioned during the charity auction that there were only
10 or 12 Megatron ATB toys in existence. And the one at BC'96 went for $950.

hmmm...brings new meaning to Megatron calling Starscream a pain in the
ass, though.

actually, i saw the toys r us wish list from last year, and it had mega
tron atb in it for around $24. i really don't think there were only ten
of them, and toys r us happened to be selling them at wholesale prices.

There are 12 or 13, and the one at BotCon sold for $950.

Toys R Us never got them -- the toy was pulled after the catalog was
printed. Though if you ask me, the Megatron ATB doesn't do him justice.

Pick one:

(1) Hasbro stopped handling Transformers and popped it over to Kenner, who
promptly killed all of Hasbro's "recolors ad infinitum" projects (good!).

(2) Hasbro wised up and realized Megatron ATB looked like a dork.

(3) Hasbro wised up and realized too many people would make jokes about
Starscream's new relationship with Megatron.

(4) Megatron threatened to vaporize the responsible Hasbro employees for
making him into a bullet-head ATB dork.

(5) Megatron vaporized the responsible Hasbro employees for making him into a
bullet-head ATB dork. But not before 12 toys were made and sold at outrageous
prices to dealers...

>What did he look like?

The Dreadwind ATB toy (which was available at Kay Bee toys on clearance)
in different colors. I've got a photo, but I don't know whether that's a good
thing or not... B-)

He was a recoloration of the G2 Dreadwing. The places where Dreadwing
is red are yellow on Megatron ATB. Where Dreadwing is black, Megatron
ATB is grey. Megatron ATB is black every where else.
