I got a chance to doublecheck the Easter basket with the Aerialbots in it, and
it's definitely the same set as the "Fighterplnce" giftset, right down to the
misapplied stickers on Fireflight's back and Superion's toes. No individual
weapons for the Aerialbots except for Silverbolt, as far as I can tell. Almost
certainly no die-cast metal, but no way to be sure without doing the
tongue-test.
The other set of toys that comes in the basket is packaged under the name
SBK-BOT. The four insects are named Cicada-Bot, Hopper-Bot, Wasp-Bot, and
Stag-Bot. I don't know if that means anything to anybody else here, but I did
promise I'd take notes on them today, so there you go.
I wasn't able to discern anything else from the set of four planes, but I agree
with whoever said that they combined like the Duocons did. It looked to me
like one of the jets had robot legs but no arms, and I spotted arms on another
but couldn't find the legs. The shipping label reads "HAULER EASTER
BASKETPROMOTIONA" on it (the basket also comes with a semi rig toy) and, like
the Aerialbots set, sells for $19.88. UPC is 0-13253-31976-8, if anyone cares.
I really thought more people would be excited about this. I know not everyone
here collects knockoffs, but there ain't no way you'll get a set of *original*
Aerialbots for twenty bucks, so I figured this would be the next best thing.
It's a heck of a lot better buy than that crappy Sky Garry knockoff from last
year, that's for sure. Maybe I just reported this information *too* early, and
nobody's K-Mart actually has the Easter stuff set up yet? (My store was only
just changing layouts today.)
Zobovor... honestly, I'm waiting for somebody to "discover" the Aerialbots at
K-Mart in two weeks' time. Watch the newsgroup go crazy. (Yeah, I'm a little
bitter. Clearly I didn't use enough cream and sugar this morning.)

Upon reading this yesterday, I drove to the local Big K and found literally
dozens of the SPA-Bot/SBK-Bot Baskets. I ended up picking one up. For
those who want to know, this was on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
-Tim
Hey, I'm sort of excited, but I probably already have 2 of the 4 Insects, so
the price just seems a bit high. I think I'm more excited that this could
mean they start showing up separately in places. I'm still trying to
decided if it's worth chancing to wait till after Easter and get them on
clearance like I did with the Sky Garry one last year.

Oh I'm excited about it. It's just the $20 aspect of it that I don't like.
Normally it's not a problem but for the time being, I have to cease all toy
spending. It seems that, on top of my other bills and expenses, I have to
cough up $5,600 "extra" dollars in around 6 weeks. Sounds like fun, right?
:) It's doable, I just *really* have to watch my spending (and y'know, start
working 5 days a week or something).
Now, what I could do, if anyone's interested, is offer an exchange.
Somehow, I've ended up with and extra, oversized Sixtrain bootleg, that I
really have no need for. It's still sealed and stands about as tall as an
average gestalt (same one found on ebay).
Just let me know.
Hatch
The IRiS is watching me.
These ARE in at my Ghetto K-Mart. I don't know about the other
regular K-Marts. I saw it and I was like COOL! Knock-Off Superion
for Under $40!
But, I didn't have enough for it cuz I gotta pay my bills.

My Ghetto K-Mart also has the Valdigus Knock-Off in the $9.98 Easter
Basket. I was tempted to blow off $10 from one of my bills, but I
said "Eh, these mu'f***** will be here after I get some money.
> Zobovor... honestly, I'm waiting for somebody to "discover" the Aerialbots at

I was actually happy. But the Valdigus/Baldigus Knock-Off looks kinda
eh, at least paint wise. The paint mess up seems to be on the exact
same spot on the Ro-Tor, can't remember his CR name, knock-off. So it
seems like what ever they used to paint them was uneven. I really
want to get a Takara Valdigus for my Ruination so I can repaint my
Reuination into an Autobot.
TJMD
Anybody wanna give a CR Valdigus/Baldigus for free? :) Alright, You
pay me $60 and I'll take yours;)
The quality of these guys actually isn't too bad at all. The stickers
are horrendous, but the plastic is of much higher quality than I had
expected. The few paint applications are rather sloppy, but more in
the area of too little paint, than painting out of the lines.
All the pieces fit together well, and with the tightening of a few
screws most of the joints are generally pretty good.
I would place the quality of the bootleg Superion in between the
Valdigus and the Sky Garry, but much closer to Valdigus than Garry.
One other interesting side note: Having never had a complete Superion
as a kid, and only seeing him in pictures, I had never really been
impressed with the combined mode. After seeing him in person, I
really like the aesthetics of the toy.

What is the quality of the Valdigus Knock-Off? My Ghetto K-Mart has
it and I'm contemplating on buying it when I have some cash.
TJMD
It's nice. Very nice for a bootleg. The only complain I have really with
mine is that it has 2 left fists and the combiner head has sloppy eyes.
Personally, I prefer the Valdigus knockoff to Ruination. The plastic
seems to be slightly better and the joints are tighter. The only
downsides of the knockoff is that it is missing some accessories, and
some of the paint ops are sloppy. Overall I highly recommend it,
especially if you can find it at a dollar store for $5. As for the
$12 Kmart basket, I suppose it's still worth that price, although it's
almost as if you're paying $7 for candy, a basket, and grass.
The little games are fun in a cute way though ;)
>it's almost as if you're paying $7 for candy, a basket, and grass.
Hmmm, I'm trying to remember the last time I spent 7 bucks on grass.

Nope, no metal. Just chrome on Silverbolt's arms and thighs.

Also, Cicada-Bot is just Mosquito from Walgreens' Invading Insects
assortment. Pretty lousy toy, too. The other three seem to be new, or
at least ones I never saw at Walgreens.

Sounds like the ones Big Lots had last year, but I didn;t see that
basket today. Did the semi transform, by chance?

Mine was in the middle of putting everything out. I almost missed this
one, except the woman at the service desk said there was some that'd
been set out in the center aisle.

Hey, everybody! I found some Aerialbot knockoffs at K-Mart! I can't
believe I'm the first to have found them!
Hmmm, I'm trying to remember the last time I spent 7 bucks on grass. >>
Not that kind of grass...

I would be excited, except I got the set at botcon for $4.
And the duocon style jets? I got them in a much better color scheme at the KB
outlet store a few months back. There is also a cool set of 4 duocon style dune
buggys, and they rival G1 toys in terms of innovation.
Now I just want the last of the Toolbots that have been at Walgreens, I only
need the red Hammerbot to have the full combiner. I really like the toolbots.
Lucky you. I've only ever seen one pliers-bot and one hammer-bot from
that set at my local Walgreen's...

Interesting. It seems to be moving up on the "To Buy" List, but I
still want the Real Valdigus.

Actually the K-Mart Easter baskets they come in that I've seen are
only $9.98, so i guess it's $4.98 for candy, a basket and generic
grass.
TJMD
I've never paid;)
TJMD
I see it and actually I've seen that happen before. Don't know why though.
TJMD
Hmm...tempting.
Heh, I'm surprised you don't note that the knockoff tank has
Sunstreaker's head...
Doug Dlin

I knew the car had his face copied, but wasn't really sure on the tank.
And may I just note that the few bucks over what Walgreens would ask for the
toolbots really isn;t worth a fret. We have more than a dozen Walgreens stores
here, and not only have they all stopped carrying these toys, but when they had
them, I had a look around, and there was only a single complete set to be seen
amongst the lot. Every store had one or two bots, and often duplicates of the
same bot.

Sigh. I stopped by KMart today, and they had several baskets of the
Aerialbot knockoffs, and another basket with four fairly large air
vehicle robots (with Gundam art), but they wanted $20 for them.
The Aerialbot pack came with candy and a four pack of bug bots,
whereas the the other pack came with a large semi truck toy. The
Others were on a yellow blister card, each of them was about 5 inches
long, they had no obvious accessories, I can't remeber the colors other than
Easter colors (pastel blue, yellow, light orange), and they were an F117,
a Hind helicopter, an A-10, and a jet that I want to say was an F18, but
I don't really remember it. The Hind had what looked like fists in the
winglets, the A10 had arms in the engines, and the other two looked like
they folded out from the underside.
I examined the arialbot knockoffs as much as I could without taking the
packaging apart, and aside from sloppy/bizarre stickers (a wannabe rubsign
with a green autobot logo), there were no small bot accessories and no hands
for Superion. And no ramp for Silverbolt.

And it was these guys, only in Easter colors.

it's actually an F-16, the F18 had 2 tail fins, not one
Ooh, a free plug <g>.
Easter colors? Ech. I'll have to get a look at these things...sounds like a
new package style for them too.
I got the set today! ...now I have a buncha little packets of candy and
some
Insect-2-Sides as well, but the knockoff's all right. A little loose in
some parts,
but that's to be expected. The only huge problem is that I can't get
Silverbolt to stand up in robot mode. Oh well.
I took a few pictures, but haven't put them up yet. Dunno if I will yet,
I'll get back to y'all.

Easter Colors Tacky. Actually unless they improved the plastic on these,
I'd say they suck. I got a set of them and I broke the wings off the Bomber
thing right out of the package.

I'm sure they'll be popping up on eBay any day now, if they haven't already (I
haven't looked). As I've said, the Aerialbot knockoffs are identical to the
recent knockoffs from China, so if you know what those look like, then you know
what the new ones look like, too. :)
Zobovor, who probably *will* be getting a set, but not until Easter.
