Here's my speculation on this matter.
It's obvious the TF Animated cartoon series will get the standard A,E
& C 52 episodes+ordeal. Rumor has it season 3 of TF animated is
comming this fall. season 4 of TF animated was also hinted at. For
the past 6 years in the A,E & C transformers cartoon series,Megatron
always powered up into new colors in season 3 & 4. Even though I'd
love to see a new mold TF Animated Galvatron toy the realist in me
thinks it'll be a recolor of TF Animated Megatron's leader sized toy.
Hasbro said this at Botcon: "Swindle, Ratbat, Galvatron and
Waspinator: 3 of the 4 will be in Animated."
So basically if you see ratbat in animated cartoon series first then
you won't see Galvatron in the animated cartoon series.
I'd love to see a TFA 1986 updated homage mold of Galvatron that is a
robot that transforms into a futeristic laser canon. chances are it'll
be a recolor of TFA Megatron in galvatron colors.
Please HASBRO!!! NO MORE GODDAMN GALVATRONS! Why cant you come up with
something NEW???
Try something new, you know, like you did back in 1986. Remember how
well that worked for you. Damn cowards!
Don't worry. It's just Deathy pulling stuff out of his ass again. No
Galvatron has been announced or leaked except for the new mold
Universe/Classics Galvatron that was shown at BotCon.

Just for the record all the 1986 TF G-1 toys sold out in stores. the
starring new characters from the 1986 movie were near impossible to
find because they sold out quickly. that's why hasbro made a second
production run of hotrod, kup, blurr, cyclonus & scourge in 1987 with
added targetmasters. the TF G-1 toy line lost steam/popularity/sales
in 1987 when the cartoon was axed & the masters concept was
introduced.
I don't recall reading that in any of the convention coverage. Do you have a
link to your source of this information, or are you just making stuff up
and/or "joking" again?

He's not exactly making stuff up, though he's jumping to a conclusion.
At BC08, Derrick Wyatt said Animated would include 3 of the following
4 characters: Swindle, Waspinator, Ratbat, Galvatron. Given the
developments in the show so far, that really means we've got a choice
between Ratbat and Galvatron.
Discuss!

1 vote for Ratbat.
Aw c'mon. He'd be perfect for Animated!

Ditto. I'd much rather just have Megatron return as Megatron.
Or if they do go the Galvatron route, at least make an entirely new
character design. Just kinda tired of repainted Megatron/Galvatron theme.

Seriously, that's just an entirely baseless assumption. And you can't
even do that right--if the movie characters would've had a "second
production run" after the initial one, it would've been the run where
they phased out rubber tires and die-cast metal, and 'not' the (far
later) 1987 Targetmaster run.
Also, the cartoon was running in reruns as far as 1988, and even had
new segments with a Powermaster Optimus Prime puppet--so your merits
of it "losing steam" are baseless too. True, those years weren't as
*good* or imaginative, but TF sales sustained all the way up until
1990--and that's just in the US. In Europe and Japan, the line 'never
even stopped.'

Given Animated's track record, I definitely see him getting an
entirely new design--although, obviously, it'll probably be based on
his G1 design. But it won't just be a Megatron Repaint.
Hell, we've *already* seen Megatron get his body destroyed and rebuilt
'once.' I really don't see Galvatron showing up in that capacity.
I will say it now--If Galvatron appears in Animated, he will be a
seperate character from Megatron ala the IDW comics.

I'd really, really prefer that.
When last we left Megatron, he was floating in space, without a care
in the world, except for that whole floating in space with no likely
chance of rescue bit.
If we get an Animated Galvatron, I'd bet dollars to donuts that it
happens when Unicron finds Megatron floating in space. I mean, what
happened the last time we had a Megatron floating in space with no
likely chance of rescue?
Also, stupid Megatron should have rebuilt his space ship mode when he
had a chance... a helicopter is useless in space.
Gustavo!
Tell that to Armada/Energon Cyclonus and Bulkhead. :)

Floating in space prolly doesn't bother him half so much as being stuck
looking at Starscream's disembodied head. =)
Brian Come to think on it, the floating part *does* seem the lesser of two
evils...

Yeah but we didn't get as much stuff as you guys. :p No Fort Max for
example - or Shockwave to name but 2.

"I think I know what we need to do.
We need to build a space helicopter."
"You can't. That's impossible."
"Oh."
A spaceship with copter blades for use in atmosphere, then?
> A spaceship with copter blades for use in atmosphere, then?
It's actually a Metalocalypse reference. But hey, I guess that's what
it'd end up being.
