I heard a while back that they were going to make a toy of the Drift
character. Haven't heard anything since... does anyone know if this is
still happening? Or has it been canceled? I was talking to my friend
earlier today and it came up and I realized I haven't heard anything at
all about it so it got me wondering.

There was a red test shot of Drift on a few popular TF web sites a few
weeks ago. judging by size scale it was a deluxe size toy.

The Drift draft at Botcon was so preliminary that I would be amazed if
the toy speculated to be him [
http://tformers.com/article.php?sid=12567 ] actually is. Assuming the
sketch was as far as they'd gotten as of late May, if the toy that
popped up in late October really is Drift then that's five months from
concept to test shot. I don't pretend to know how the process works
but that sure seems fast to me.
