It was sold in the mid-1980s in Japan. There are no markings of note
on the box, including nothing that states who made the figure. The
uniform and helmet also came in a tan color. The uniform shirt and
pants are fairly well made, but the rest of it is fairly awful. The
weapons that the figure is supposed to come with (Which appear to be
missing from the one in that auction) are made out of metal, so I
guess they could be used as sinkers by anyone who fishes, but that's
about all they're good for.

If anyone really wants to get this guy, I'd recommend contacting
Kimono My House. They were selling him for $45.00, which is far more
reasonable than the $150.00 the eBay seller is asking for a figure
that isn't even complete. Their website can be found here:

I'd write and ask about him first. I know they closed their storefront
earlier this year, but I believe they were planning to continue with
the online shop. I'd confirm that before I placed an order.

I'm afraid I really don't know. I didn't run across it until several
years after it was released, and people were asking around $40.00 in
the aftermarket at the time. I've never found one with an original
Japanese retail price tag on it.

Boy, that's an awful lot of money for a doll with the articulation of
a Ken doll and lacking some of his original gear. I hope the buyer
will be happy once he actually has him in his hands.
