I can't just can't stand the lime green color 21st choose for the jungle boots
and have been experimenting with ways to remove it. The boots are not jungle
boots to begin with, rather Cocoran style jump boots. I hate to say it but the
SOTW version is a lot closer, in my opinion.

I found a latex paint remover called "Goof Off", currently on clearance at
Target for $1.00 (4.5 oz). It works well without damaging the boot. You have
to use a nylon bristtle brush to get into the seems. After removing the paint
there will be a slimey residue which can be removed with dishwashing liquid.

Another idea is to paint the boots brown and use them for WWII Airborne
soldiers.

Hope this helps,

I found that by painting the boots with a coat of Floquil Engine Black
(from the railroading days) you can cover that repulsive green nicely.
The finished product will match almost perfectly. The only drawback is
they'll take over a week to dry!
