Thanks to Tom, I now HAVE to have a mercury joe.
I've had 3 of these things and vintage near mint astro and capsul..

So, anybody got a set loos is prefered they can part with reasonable?

In a similar thought, Am I making up a window boxed mecuray astro a
few years back?
Like at Target ? Seems I remember this clearly, a window box like a
TC, of a silver uniformed Joe Astro.

I know it's not the TRU capsul set I'm thinking.

And BTW, Tom and David are some good Joes. They are supportive and I
appreciate them a lot. I also will get the resupply out to them
monday!!!!!

You're probably remembering the Life Magazine Mercury Astronaut. There also
was a Life Magazine Apollo Astronaut. Each were largely rehashes of the
CC/FAO Mercury and Buzz Aldrin gear, though there were some slight
differences.

You might be thinking of the FAO Mercury set, with a black capsule and a
CC figure. It was packaged in a huge window box. That was one set that I
never managed to get my hands on. There was also an FAO exclusive
Masterpiece Edition.

hmmm, now Agent IS quoting original text....WTF?

Anyway, naw thanx Rudy, the Life figure was what I was thinking about.

Dang has anyone looked at the online prices peeps want for thes sets?

100 to 200 bucks for Buzz and Glen....get out of here.

I just want to put the damn thing on a shelf.

The differences?
Well, I'm looking at my NRFB Mercury guy right now.

The mirror/floatation device on the horizontal harness strap is different. On
the CC Mercury it's a yellow edged shiny silver on the figures upper right
chest area.. On the Life Mercury it's white backed dull silver color
centered on the chest.

The Life Mercury gloves are molded hands, not foil mittens.

There is an extra piece of molded plastic detail on the Life Mercury figure
suit's left abdomen.

The Life Mercury figure helmet's got two microphones that jut out in front of
the figure's mouth.

The Life and CC's air pack and boots appear to be the same.
