My jarheadedness is on the fritz, I thought they were issued the lace
up the outer calf type.
Not the army cup around the ankle type.
Oddly, when I went though navy boot in 83, we were the first class in
20 years to wear the lace up the calf spats.
And of course, I was issued 2 sets, one just a bit darker than the
other, until you were out on the grinder. Then it was painfully
obvious.
Everyday.
WessD go navy.....hmmm, some oddly bad memories just came back.
They did - the commies nicknamed them "yellowlegs". After the defense of
Pusan, word reached the Marines that the commies were ducking fights with
the yellow legs - so as a ruse, they ditched them.

Those were the lace up leggings. Yeah, I found that referenced...it's
like I was saying, the canvas yellows, and it doesn't matter what
color they start out as...but these army cup looking things...still
not a typical jarhead in korea look.
WessD go navy!
I haven't looked at it in a while, but if this is the same "Jack" set I
bought years ago, I'm pretty sure it came with correct footwear. If I get
bored tomorrow I might drop in on TM.
