Review: U.K. Royal Marine

On a happier note, I picked up three of the new U.K. Royal Marine sets this
afternoon at the Jacksonville, FL TRU located on Southside Blvd.

The set is priced at $19.99. The SKU (according to my receipt) is 043594 A.
The item scans under the name GI JOE DLX. MARINES. A TRU employee opened a
case right in front me. The case contained 3@ U.K. Royal Marine and WW II
Marine Pacific Theatre.

The box is similar in size to the "deluxe" accessory sets, but a little
smaller. The set includes the following items.

L2 Machine Gun w/ Clip
2 Boots
Dark Grey/Charcoal Jumpsuit
Black Hood
9mm Submachine Gun
9mm Pistol
LST 5L SAT COM Receiver
Shotgun
2 Grenades
M-16/M-203
Flashlight
Smoke Grenade
Binoculars
SA-80 Assault Rifle
Goggles
Dog Tags w/ Chain
2 MREs
3 M-18 Claymore Mines

The figure is a Caucasian "pinhead" with resculpted hands that are improved
and more realistic. Granted, the majority of the items in the set are
mostly rehash of previously released GI JOE CC accessories, but it is still
an excellent value for the price and the accessories & figure can be easily
used for kitbashes.

In comparison, this set is slightly more appealing than the similar 21STCT
Delta Force CQB set because it does provides a few more accessories for the
same price. I'm the process of converting my Marines into British SAS
operatives.

The only "downside" to this set is that it does not provide any web gear.
Luckily, I have extra 21STCT web belts.
