This evening's Mythbusters episode did a segment investigating whether
people attacking a castle could use trees to fling disease riddled
bodies into the castle courtyard.

They did some 1:6 scale experiments in the workshop using different
types of saplings and a hapless Joe as the cadaver. The figure was
spraypainted, but it looked like a hardhanded painted head. I'm
guessing a Timeless collection or Walmart figure.

They used what looked like Wal Mart figures earlier in the season. It
was pretty cool

They blew the myth, though. They launched a full-weight human analog.
They didn't take into account that a diseased corpse might weigh less,
or that the attackers may not have tried to lob the entire body over the
wall.

Scott,

Thanks for the heads up. I watched the episode and it was pretty
cool, although it is a shame that the painted to poor Joe orange! I
was cracking up, they even painted his boots and pants, (although they
flung him shirtless). It reminded me of all of the abuse my Joes went
through when I was a kid. It would have been great to have put some
of the stuff we were doing to Joes on high speed film!
