Any Xmas Loot?

Pickings were sparse under my tree Joe wise, altough I did get a tile
saw which I have been using to remodel the kitchen this week. I got a
mini iron in my stocking to keep in the joe room to unwrinkle
unimforms and my wife snuck onto the Club site and got me one of the
Arctic Adventurers they had on sale. Any one else get any gift Joes?

A tile saw -- Cool. An iron, too! I'd like those under the tree,

But why is it that Men can get these types of gifts, but give a Woman
a household tool/appliance and BOOM! the moniker of "insensitive lout"
is applied?

Therein lies the difference, I guess... ;) Hey, I'm the first to
admit it: the lash is sweet.

Santa got me a Talking Soldier, but he hasn't delivered it yet. I'm
banking on one of the 12 Days of Christmas as gift day. Any
Ukrainians here? I'm not, but January 5th is Ukrainian Christmas on
the old Gregorian Calendar and lots of people celebrate it up here.
Two Christmas Days each year: one of the benefits of Multiculturalism.

I got an unexpected Christmas gift this year: a minty marine helmet
and a Hasbro rifle with the blue metal parts. My cousin down in
Sacramento came across them and thought of me. One day, over 42 years
ago, my family had made a visit to his mother and father's place. My
cousin was fresh out of Marine boot camp and he and I sat on his front
porch with my GI Joe, passing time on a Sunday afternoon. He had
received his orders and he was off to Vietnam within the week. I
remember that we didn't say too much. I still have that 'Joe, but his
helmet and rifle were lost long, long ago.

The guy did three TOD in Vietnam -- 2 of them as a Recon RTO -- and
retired from the Corp in the late 1990's.

The helmet and rifle are easily the best 'Joe Gifts I've received in
40 years.

I did get a cool new duty belt, the Fat Zombie from Jones Tactical,
but it is not 1/6 scale.

Quisp the Breakfast Serial? I came across some of that about 5 or 10
years ago at a local supermarket but haven't seen it since. I
remember getting his flying saucer as a mail away way back.

Yes! It can still be found online, and the back now has a comic strip by
John Kricfalusi and the Spumco crew.

No Joe stuff here but I got a San Juan Hill Playset and an old
Chrsitmas stocking full of dollar store toys from my Wife and some old
metal and plastic cars from my Dad's childhood.

Closest I came this year to Joe stuff was a 1:1 Bowie knife. Had put
it on my wish list for the missus on a whim. Her parents got it for
me. Not sure what I will do with it, but you can never have too many
knives...
