heh, I work from home too, usenet is my coffee break.
I have a love/hate with usenet. There's all this banal mixed in with
the odd oasis of amazing. I *know* so many people through usenet,
entire histories of their lives unfold as I read. It often strikes me
as one notch below extraordinary (a mini notch).
For example, with you - I've been reading you for years. I hope that
doesn't offend you, my admitting that. I'm really not a creep. I have
certain groups where I post; certain groups where I mostly lurk/read.
My participation in each subset feels equally intense. Maybe I am a
creep, or at the least a voyeur, which does equate with creepiness.
Ah well.

how am i going to do that? i am one of the most boring individuals around.
my life is boring, i am boring. life is boring.

me too. i'm starting to really get some grey hairs. i'm blaming it on the
dissertation, though, and not on the fact that i am getting older.
I am only turning 31 this month, so its not like i am old. I am young and
seem to be getting younger with every moment, i.e. learning how to not take
things so seriously.
I'm bored today. i am suppose to be writing, but a g-friend called and upset
me with her life problems. We only got off the phone cause she started to
cry. I'm having a hard time refocusing now. Besides, it is lovely outside
and i keep thinking i should be outside, not inside!
spring brings truly perfect weather to chicago......
oh well, must keep writing. must finish this fucker sometime soon so that i
can enter the work force and be even more bored.
i would rather just be reading.
writing is no fun...

i just turn really brown. i love my olive skin. husband turns bright red
and burns very very bad.
i hope that our kids get my skin.
there is a chance i could have a red headed child. its amuzing as hell.
mother in law has gorgeous red hair. i don't like red hair.

i still talk very fast too, and most likely will for the rest of my life. It
was a major problem when i taught. I'd get all excited and would start
talking a mile a minute.
My opening introduction lecture had a bit about my speed talking.

its been about 70-75 here as well. lots of sun, nice cool breeze.
i keep my house at 66 --or 72 in the summer, or 68 when it is below freezing
outside.

good old NY. this summer we are going to the Jersey shore and hope to take
my husband's mom into NY city.
Husband is also applying for a job in NY. Not sure if i want to deal with
the cost of living there, but I''ll go wherever he wants to go.
his present company sucks.

that would be nice. i would actually like to have to leave my house more.
its nice, though.
i love staying in my pjs all day and not having to worry about such things.
i'm in the process of writing one of those.

i like passion, though, and the problem with AI type things is that they can
only do literal translations. We would have to live without sarcasm and
irony. WHo knows, maybe the world would be a much happier place.
this friend is a strange influence in my life. the other day, i was making a
usual "i am pathetic" type of joke, and she goes to me, "you realize your
'mind's eye is listening, right?"
i said, sure, but i like sarcasm.
i think she would like to live in a world that only speaks to the literal. i
think i would break in such a world.

what i mean is, i don't find red heads attractive, though my youngest
brother in law is a real cutie.

we go near Point Pleasant. When i was a child, we lived in Avon for a few
months, two blocks from the boardwalk. I learned how to swim in the ocean,
so its like going back to the 'mother's womb.' Swimming in the ocean is one
of my favorite things.
why did you use to spend a lot of time on the jersey shore?

Still friends in a way. I still do read you all the time; more of a
passive friend; definitely rooting for you.

I've been working at home almost three years now - every three months
or so I make the 3000 mile trip to Calgary and actually go to work
with real people in an actual workplace environment. I usually end
up spending that time on my belly, sticking sable brushes into lumps
of clay and photographing them with a digital camera. There's
something about it all that's very satisfying to me. I'll look at the
picture on the website and I can remember setting up the shot - every
time we sell a brush it's a little victory.
I digress, as usual. Working at home is fun, I love it. I'll go out
at lunch to run an errand and my car will be the only one in the
parking lot. It makes me feel a little smug. You poor suckers - I
get to wear my pj's while doing customer service, ohh yeah!

I've never lived more than 10 miles away. I take it for granted, but I would
miss it if it wasn't nearby. I feel the same way about the city.
