An elderly gentleman was spending one of his leisurely
afternoons at the museum. On this particular day, the
museum was displaying some modern art by local artists.
The man didn't think much of the so called "modern art"
he had seen before, but he decided to at least give it a
chance before he passed judgement on it.
He approached a peculiar (to him anyway) painting which
had caught his attention. He stopped and stared and
pondered and stared some more and pondered and ...(you
get the idea). Suddenly, the man burst into laughter.
He was laughing so hard, everyone else in the museum
turned to see what the clamour was about. It just so
happened that the artist who painted the work of art saw
what was happening and ran over to the elderly gentleman.
The artist exclaimed, "Why are you laughing at my
painting?! You don't know ANYTHING about modern art!!"
The elderly man stopped laughing long enough to reply,
"I don't know anything about laying eggs either, but I
know a rotten one when I see it!"

Toilet humour is my favourite kind of humour, - so i though
i could do some "Modern Art" along same lines, using used
Toilet Roll middles (the cardboard tube that the paper
comes on) - Anyone got any ideas for what i could make a
sculpture of, with them ? (Apart from a toilet, of course,
that's been done already)

A lot of the Engineering students have talked about famous assignments
where a lecturer has challenged them, involving construction of strong
structures out of apparently useless materials, such as getting the exam
answers off the lecture theatre ceiling using only gummy drops and
toothpicks. I think another one was trying to make a structure that
could be used to drop an egg from a three story building without
breaking, using only toilet roll middles. It'd be interesting to see
something like e.g. a car supported on a whole load of toilet roll
middles.
