There is an asterisc after the times of phases that are similar to the
one under discussion. These are 02:00; 08:00; 14:00; and 20:00. I
offer no reason for the particulars save that 02:00 is the hour in
question and the others have a perceived harmony with those.

Storms on all the US coasts. And an High still central but the weather
seems to going SE around it. That's interesting.
We are having stormy weather in Britain too. This is in fact what
Februaries should be doing not Marches. February fills ditches March

What does it look like?
An large High stretching the length of the Appalachians on the east
coast and on up the coast to the Northern reaches of Canada, 1024 mb.
On the west coat, lower pressure over Alaska and California with a set
of highs over Oregon and Washington with a feed-through of Lows coming
down from British Columbia.
In the Middle of the continent there is a trough of Low pressure
extending from Hudson Bay to Central Mexico and beyond with foci in
the Bay and West Texas having pressures of 1000 mb.
There is a ridge of High pressure extending out from Seattle 1032 mb,
SW into the Pacific reaching as far south as the east coast High.
Completing the zebra hide are lows off Labrador and NW Canada /
Alaska.
All told a picture of ridges and troughs running N/S.

The North Atlantic has a busy season entrained by the look of it too.
With a run of Lows in the region of 985 to 995 mixing it with Highs of
1038 to 1015 in fairly close proximity.
Look at the mice though. Highly eventful, portentously seismic. If it
keeps this up we'll have an early season of hurricanes. And above
normal numbers of earthquakes in the region of 7-up.
(The North Atlantic too looks strident with N/S alignments of pressure
systems). Here is another one. I somehow doubt, though unchecked, that
there are many super-cyclones where the seismic activity reaches
closer to 7M.
Perhaps I aught to check my facts before spouting this stuff but it
does look like that Australian storm (Ophelia) is winding down as the
earthquaking in, for example the Philippines, is winding up.
Things in my small part of the globe are sunny if cool and were
certainly windy the last few days.
The cyclogenesis in the centre of the USA is moving slowly eastward.
So why is the storm in Australia moving due west?
One would have thought that the weather system would have sent the
last one east and killed this Ophelia upstart in its cradle.
That USA High has stepped into the Atlantic and another has extended
over to the UK. We are in for some frost and the Australian is dead in
the water. That band of bad weather has moved right up the
Appalachians and all told...
..things look interesting.
Looks like whatever it was stepped into the realms of "a change in the
weather" around about the timeframe involved here:

Things seem to have settled, though I mixed up the files I was saving
from there and seem to have lost or misplaced a few loops. Pity that.
But there is still that Canadian Archive and the San Francisco one.

The system of Highs and Lows in the North Atlantic, depicted on such
charts as these: http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm, commonly
known locally as The Weather, appear to rotate or gravitate for want
of a better word around the northern Irish Sea.
This is the little square of brine between Liverpool and Dublin which
has to its north, the Isle of Man and to its south Anglesey. In
between there is a fairly deep trench called for some reason I know
not of, St George's Channel.
Not far from its southern reaches is a port with one of the greatest
tidal ranges on earth and its northern inlet is guarded by a very
powerful tidal race.
And to complete its geological interest, it has along it's eastern
edge one of the largest sandbanks in Europe, Morecambe Bay. It exposes
some 7 miles of shore at low tide in the springs. And on the Irish
side the tidal range is very low, Dun Loaghaire for example has a
range similar to that of London Bridge.
But that's not the reason I chose it.
I need to have a reference against which to plot the courses of these
Lows. And I am familiar with the weather patterns in that area, also,
they extend out to where I live now.
And it is central, more or less, to Britain overall and to the weather
patterns on that chart.
So, let us all take for example the Low 974 mb some 17 degrees NW of
it at the moment:

It is nicely centred at 60 N 35 W and playing Hickory Dickory with one
going ashore at Norway at about 15 NE (969 mb, 66 N 10 W.)
So long as the Low maintains that distance, things should be nice
here. But earth-shattering elsewhere.

With an unseasonally early spring the country seems to be getting
pollen problems. How about hay fever reports this time of year? That's
news:
"The remarkably warm February weather may be a boon for most Britons -
but it's getting up the noses of the nation's hayfever sufferers.
Recent temperatures have been as much as 11C (21F) above normal - and
last Tuesday they hit 18C (64F), making it the hottest February 12 on
record.
The weather has forced scores of plants into early flower, including
English hawthorn, which has started blooming eight weeks ahead of

The most dreaded season has arrived for sufferers of cedar pollen
allergies. To help them survive the difficult time, following are some
timely tips.
Hay fever is aggravated when the amount of airborne cedar pollen,
which is calculated based on the number of spores collected on a one-
square-centimeter sheet of glass, reaches 20 a day, explains Toho
University Professor Emeritus Norio Sahashi, adding that the figure
can rise to 100 depending on conditions.
"Depending on temperature and humidity, the equivalent of half a day's
cedar pollen can circulate in a single hour," Sahashi says, pointing
out that people with such seasonal allergies should take this into
consideration when making plans."
Cedar is well known for its toxicity in the timber industry and
desired for its resistance to rot. This is the first time I have heard
of its pollen being irritant.
People who live in regions where a processing plant handles seed oil
tend to get sensitive to lung complaints. I wonder if the reports are
most common in such areas.
