"Essentially, the zodiac is a celestial coordinate system, or more specifically
an ecliptic coordinate system, which takes the ecliptic as the origin of
latitude, and the position of the sun at vernal equinox as the origin of
longitude."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zodiac

Ancient civilizations used the stars for navigation, times and seasons, and
more. The Bible confirms it. In one way, these are the roots of our ancestry as
I shall show.

Abraham came from Ur. A city of ancient Chaldea (according to the Bible). Until
recently, "Ur" was considered simply another Bible myth. A non-existent city.

"The Torah teaches that our father Abraham was born in the city of Ur of the
Chaldees. (Genesis 11:31). Prior to the development of scientific archeology it
was commonly believed that the Torah is legend and that Ur did not ever exist.
We know better today. Ur was actually excavated by the British archeologist J.E.
Taylor, with further excavations made by the British museum in 1919 and
additional work by the University of Pennsylvania Museum. Today that museum, in
Philadelphia, houses a collection of treasures from that ancient city."

http://www.jbuff.com/c041603.htm

The Chaldeans were ancient astrologers.

Chaldean

1. (a.) Of or pertaining to Chaldea.

2. (n.) A native or inhabitant of Chaldea.

3. (n.) A learned man, esp. an astrologer; -- so called among the Eastern
nations, because astrology and the kindred arts were

much cultivated by the Chaldeans.

4. (n.) Nestorian.

http://wordlist.com/chaldean.htm

The Chaldea\n\s are referenced 76 times in the Bible (KJV)...

KJV search results:

chaldean - 2 results
chaldea - 8 results
chaldeans - 66 results

Ur - 6 references, (including 2 showing God led Abraham out of Ur and into the
Land of Promise (Israel).

Ur - 6 results

Genesis 11:28 - KJV
And Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the
Chaldees.

Genesis 11:31 - KJV
And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai
his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur
of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and
dwelt there.

Genesis 15:7 - KJV
And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees,
to give thee this land to inherit it.

1 Chronicles 11:35 - KJV
Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,

Nehemiah 9:7 - KJV
Thou art the LORD the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out
of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham;

The spade and here astronomy again
validates the Black Book. I love it when
'higher authorities tell us' that facets of
Bible history could just not possibly be.
Then, when they are shown to be wrong,
they dummy up and fade away. No apologies.
Just like with Lucy Man, Piltdown Man,
Peppered Moths, etc.

No. What do you think? Zeus is not God so you could very well be interested. Who

Nothing like viewing the Zodiac on a cold fall night, out in the wilderness.
A few years ago I purchased a 6 man, all weather, all season tent. It cost ~$700
and weighs less than 30 lbs altogether and is worth every penny of it. Great for
packing back into the mountains. We have incorporated it into our yearly
tradition i.e. friends I've been hunting with for 30 years or so, use it for the
first couple of weeks of hunting season (we have a cabin to use later). We sit
out under the stars, with a campfire.... tell tall tales and occasionally drink
adult beverages. You wouldn't believe just how many meteorites and satellites we
see trekking across the sky....

Can't blame them for being wary. After all, what are their main
predators? Wolves and coyotes. Oh, and cars. Can't forget cars.

Being well adapted for their environment does not make them "smarter".
It might if they and we occupied the *same* niche in the environment,
but we don't.

Like I said, Father Raskall could not survive without a microwave backup, if he
got snowed in and couldn't get to a resturant. Power out for more than a few
days.... Father Raskall starves to death.

How is this "smarter" than a sparrow?

Just one: do you think the historical existence of the city of Troy
proves that the goddess Eris rolled a golden apple marked "to the
fairest" into a feast on Mount Olympus, precipitating the dispute
between goddesses that led to the Trojan War? Why or why not?

I'm talking about Abraham from Ur of Chaldea. And the arcaheological proof of
the Bible.

If "Troy" is mentioned in the Holy Writ, I missed it.

No you limp wristed bobbleheaded hobbit geek. That is a sign of over-population,

It would fill up many volumes to begin to
cite all the supposedly 'nonexistent' men,
places, and events which the Black Book
catalogs and which deviants had sought
to deny. They must try though. With its
authenticity substantiated, that means that
Hell too is very real. As soon as the atheist
hits the Lake of Fire, he shrieks out: first
for water and then for Mercy.

Nonsense. If the fact that Ur existed proves your bible true, then the
fact that the Empire State Building exists must also prove that King Kong
existed and the fact that Kings Cross station, in London, exists must also
prove that Harry Potter, the wizard, exists.

And the fact that Heinrik Schliemann found Troy proves that the Iliyad
and the Odessy were *also* both totally true, and that Athena helped
the Greeks while other gods, notably Apollo, helped the Trojans.

See? Everything is true! Whether contradictory or *not*.

I'm more astonished by his claim that "until recently", UR was
considered a myth. The earliest excavations in Ur go back to the 17th
century (and did more harm than good) but the main modern excavations
that identified the city were in the 1920s. Where has he been all the
time? Cryogenically frozen? Would explain why his scientific
knowledge is ca 1810.
Ur is of course also mentioned in numerous non-biblical sources. Which
also means you don't have to evoke the Ilias to make your point - the
excavation of Ur obviously proves teh existence of "lady Wild Cow",
the great godess Ninsuna. All hail Ninsuna!

That Ur existed is no more "proof of the Bible" than the city of
Troy's existence is "proof" of the Iliad, or than Atlanta's existence

What reason is there for a hell when there will be no sols to occupy it.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Which implies that those who don't, don't, but die when they die.

Just look at this map from the Troy archaeological site and you will see
