Believe it or not, the world that we presently have will eventually come
to an end. It's a fact. It's fortunate that a huge asteroid has not hit
America in the last 1000 years. I did read about a small asteroid hitting
the former Soviet Union. Thank goodness, that is was a small one.

Believe it or not, if the rapture happened today--it would just mean that
all Christians and Jews went to heaven. Billions of people would remain on
the earth . Books have been written about what may happen on the earth
after the rapture happens. They are called the "Left Behind" series of
books. They have made DVD movies based on some of those Left Behind books.
You can buy those books and DVDs at any Christian Book Store.

I hope the rapture happens during my life time. My father also hoped the
rapture would happen during his life time. He had heart disease and lung
disease due to breathing in mustard gas when he was involved in a war.

Just a few questions if I may.

How old are you Jason?

When did your dad die?

And how old was he when he died?

AGain, it ain't gonna happen, as it is just the drug-induced ravings of

It's not just fiction but *hate* fiction.
It glorifies violence.
It demeans and denies the message of Jesus.
If the authors had been Muslim, American preachers and
politicians would wave it about as prime evidence of the hateful
nature of Islam.

Yeah, but Jason loves them, because he figures he would be among the
raptured, and then he could laugh at us for torturing him all these
months (years?). I think that if the rapture did happen, Jason would
probably be very unhappily surprised.

Not for long, though.
You know his mindset -- he'd fall back on circular logic, wishful
thinking, magical thinking and some creative interpretation to
redefine "rapture". In no time at all, he'd be spouting the same
nonsense as pre-rapture, declaring the clearly faulty rapture to
be a fake perpetrated by Socialist Islamic Satan or putting it
down to human error in the calculations, or divine will, or some
other such drivel.

I don't think that will happen. My rapture beliefs are based on the
Bible--not the strange beliefs of the JWs. I seem to remember that they
believe a secret rapture took place about a 50 years ago.

Why? There's no evidence that you follow Jesus or will be saved. You

Only God knows why it has not yet happened.

Only the Chistians and Jews would be raptured. You would still have to
deal with Muslims and Buddhists.

Jason, when I have asked you to look back through a thread to previous
posts of mine, there have never been dozens of questions asked by me.

In fact the key point should have been staring you in the face.

The fact that you are unable to find it is not my problem.

In fact there have been times when I have reposted what I wanted you
to address.

And still your responses have not addressed that point in question.

Again it isn't my problem that you cannot respond correctly to a point
when it is reposted.

Do try not to put the blame on others for your own shortcomings.

It doesn't do your status any good.

Another fine example of your failing to follow the path of the
discussion.

Interesting.
In other words, scripture tells of a big roadsign that comes up
when the rapture occurs, reading "Rapture This Way,
English-Speakers Only". Foreigners need not apply, is that it?

Yes, as an aside. By you. Still doesn't have anything to do with the

That does not mean that the rapture will not take place this year or some

MATT 22:

[8] Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which
were bidden were not worthy.

[9] Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid

Given the rapid decline in Christianity in
America you could be right.

American religion: trending downward
July 26, 2011

Many American Christians expect earthquakes for the
apocalypse; but according to pollster George Barna,
the Earth is already moving under their feet. The
seismic tremors are in the rates of church attendance,
Bible reading, church volunteerism, faith in scripture
and belief in the nature of God. Those and other facts
jump out in the latest research by Barna's California-
based organization.

"Overall, the picture is not pretty though it falls
somewhat short of disaster," he writes in an opinion
piece on his blog. "Adult Sunday school could easily
go the way of the all-but-forgotten midweek service.
The percentage of unchurched people will probably
continue to climb."

Barna surveyed 1,621 adults in January looked at changes
in religious belief and behavior in the 20 years since 1
991. Here's what fell:

Adult church attendance, falling 9% to 40% today.

Belief in the Bible as "totally accurate in all of
the principles it teaches," to 38 percent, or an
8-point drop.

Volunteer work at churches, from 27% to 19%.

Bible reading, falling 5 points to 40% per week.

Two-thirds of Americans still agree that God is
"the all-knowing, all-powerful and perfect Creator
of the universe who still rules the world today" -
- but that's a 7-point drop from the 1991 level.

A slightly different group, "born-again" Christians,
is still growing. They totaled 35 percent of respondents
in the 1991 Barna survey; now they're 40 percent.

But another group is growing faster: the unchurched,
those who have not attended in six months aside from
ceremonies like a wedding or funeral. Twenty years
ago, they totaled 24 percent of Americans; now they're
37 percent.

I believe the information is in the Old Testament. God blessed Abraham,
Isaac, Jacob and Joseph--they were all Jews. I seem to recall reading that
Abraham is the ancestor of all Jews and Muslims.

Why do you think people only started hoping for the rapture since
English translations of the bible were available?

Why do you waffle about the length of generations?

Why not simply say you can't answer my question?

Wow, Jason, I guess you're right, there really is a God. I betcha his
favorite song goes, "Take good care/Of my business/When I'm away/Every day!"

I chose a beautiful house on a two hundred foot bluff of glacial till
overlooking Puget Sound and rented it out to some folks. Over the
years erosion caused the bluff to unmine the foundation and now the
house is sagging. My tenants keep begging me to jack up the house and
reinforce the foundation with new concrete, but I left it up to the
people in my house to deal with the erosion, because I included a "free
will" clause in their lease.

Odd how he seems to create all kinds of havoc but leaves it up the

The word "rapture" (since it's a Latin word) is not in the Bible. However,
the concept of the rapture is mentioned in

1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18

Three questions I asked of you in my last post.

And this response fails to address any of them.

That subject is discussed in these scriptures.
The word "rapture" is not in the English Bible since it's a latin word.

1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18

A variation of the word "rapture" is in the Latin Bible.

You ignore both scripture and doctrine.

When Jesus arrived, the Jews ceased to be god's chosen
people. Jesus came to make a new compact with the whole
human race. This included the Jews and rescinded their
original status.

JAson, there are a lot of things you know little to nothing
about, but for heaven's sake, if you call yourself a
Christian, it behooves you to know about your own faith at
least!

Your standard of evidence is far different than that of most people.
Indeed, it appears you have no standard of evidence whatsoever. If you
want to believe it, it is evidence you are correct. What a strange way
to look at the world...

Still you choose not to answer my three questions, by providing a
response that shows how lacking in knowledge you are with respect to
the English and Latin languages.

Why don't you look it up since you seem to be unaware of it. You can
starte with google even if it does lock up that super fancy computer
you have access to.

In the meantime you can try Matthew 23:36 & 24:34

Exactly. There was no mention of whales in the original bible.
Theists such as you made the change to try to bolster their idiotic
myths.

Even if you are correct--and I don't agree with you--there are lots of
Jews that are Christians. They call themselves Jews For Jesus or Hebrew
Christians.
