Typography lusers are still using the square-root symbol (minus the
"extender") as a checkmark symbol. It looks stupid, what with the extra
little thingy on the end. Lusers doing something stupid, what else is new.

But this bullshit is now getting into allegedly-professionally-produced
advertisements, not just inter-office memos.

Grr.

On the upside, it lets me know which companies I don't want to do
business with because they won't do even very basic error-checking and
analysis.

The word "urgent" is the moral of the story "The boy who cried wolf". As
a general rule I don't believe it until a manager comes to me almost in
tears. I like to catch them in a cup and drink them later.
