I think there is a menu option on the system test diskette for
"updating" the slushware already on a floppy. Is this supposed to also
work to put slushware on a floppy that doesn't have it already.
Then, to transfer the bootable system, I think one does SET SYS
DEVICE RX51 RX50SY.HN assuming that the running system floppy is in
RX50: and the new blank floppy is in RX51:. Then of course, the system
files can be copies with COPY RX51:<RX50:*.*
I am usually unsuccessful with putting the slushware on, but
successful with the SET SYS..., but both have to be done to make a
real bootable disk.
What am I doing wrong?
I have a supply of real RX50K that had data backups from an RSX-11
system. What I have been doing to get by is not very sophisticated -
on a PC I've been writing each disk with the teledisk image of the
floppy for Adventure (which is bootable, and has an OS/278
filesystem), then deleting the files and replacing them with the
needed parts of OS/278 and whatever else I want on there. I really
want the PC out of the picture.
Perhaps the answer is burried out there somewhere, and if I didn't
find it, I apologize.
