Wilson Labs made a device that emulates an RK05 drive using a Syquest 135Mb
cartridge drive (SCSI). I am told that each Syquest cartridge emulates only
a single RK05 drive/cartridge ... therefore using only 1.6Mb of the 135Mb
available?

Any way, I have been fortunate enough to acquire one of these units in good
shape and look forward to putting it to use on both PDP8 and PDP11 systems
... but it did not come with any documentation or manuals at all. Can
anyone help with manuals or docs? I have searched BitSavers.Org and other
popular sites, but not found anything yet?

They were still around as of a couple of years ago. They helped me out when
I was trying to find a Diablo 30 cable for a drive exerciser.

I did look them up and called them - their reply was a bit surprising!

The person that I spoke with said that the unit was "obsolete",
"discontinued" and "no longer supported" and that when they moved several
years ago they discarded all manuals and materials related to the WBC-3000.

The model is still on their website and for a company that seems to
specialize in extending the life of old and obsolete systems (i.e. a
substitute for RK05, RK06/7, RL01/2), to throw out the documentation and
stop supporting the product seems to be not in the best interests of the
company or their customers?

Anyway - I found the jumper for 12/16 bit sectoring so I should be able to
at least set it up and try to make it work, but I am sure there are many
features or tid-bits of other information that would prove to be very
usefull so if anyone can come up with manuals or send leads of where I might
look or call, it would be greatly appreaciated.

Also surprising is either not being aware of bitsavers.org or not
thinking it useful to donate a set of manuals.
