I posted a message a couple of months ago regarding the failure of the
UNIBUS card on the 11-84 I'm running. to re-cap the story, the system
was coupled to a WARP drive, a sort of primitive RAID array, that held
the RSX-11M operating system and the drivers and software for the
machine the PDP is running.
Now 4 out of 6 disks died into the WARP drive, and the company we
contract to take care of the equipment didn't get the data out of the
disks before exchanging them!
So I'm left again with a UNIBUS serial error, and I would like to re-
install the software on the WARP drive from the PDP itself. I do have
all the tapes with operating system and (hopefully...) all the
drivers, but I have no idea how to do that. So I'm looking for help!!
thanks for any answer coming through!
best regards
Matteo
I'm not sure what help you're looking for...
It sounds as if the hardware currently is inoperative. So you need to fix that.
Reinstalling some software isn't going to solve a hardware problem. In fact, you
probably won't be able to do any installation until the hardware is fixed.
