KS10 FPGA Status

There has been slow but steady progress on the KS10 FPGA.
The issues with DFDV and DDIV instructions have been resolved.
All the Basic Instruction Diagnostics now pass! All of the Advanced Instruction Diagnostics except those dealing with the Pager also pass!

DFDV and DDIV Instructions

So...
I'm enjoying the misery of debugging the DFDV and DDIV instructions on the KS10 FPGA.
And I was wondering...
Why are these instructions named the way they are? It would seem to me that these are Quad Word instructions not Double Word instructions.
I don't think the KA10 that I used had any of these.... more »

TOPS-10 automatic continuable stopcode dump copy

Hello everyone,
my (emulated) TOPS-10 host crashed during the night (stopcode SCNRIA), but
could not take a dump because CRASH.EXE contained an older unprocessed dump.
That preceeding dump was from a continuable stopcode I was not aware of, at

PDP-10, pager, and AC's

I'm still working on my KS10 FPGA. The CPU passes diagnostics but the
pager is still inoperative. Most of my PDP-10 experience was with a
KA-10 so I m unfamiliar with PDP-10 paging
I don t understand how the pager interacts with the addressing of the

I went to twenex.org and registered a new account (MKACCT in the web-page.)
The system sent a confirmation email with the password and account.
Now when i try to login it behaves (i think) as if my account name is undefined.

For those how have an interest in the kl10 / klh10 performance I have compiled what I have observed when using the dfkfb benchmark test. The dfkfb test is part of the KLH10 distribution. In the KLH10 distribution (dfkfb.txt) there are some number from a real KL10 being provided by Kenneth L. Harrenstien himself.... more »

It is mostly available in corporate memos in the DEC corporate archive now at
the Computer History Museum. The part that wasn't obvious is tracing back how
many of the key players were ex-IBM. I suspect this will be someone's doctoral

Hi!
I'm trying to configure mail on my Panda installation.
In fact it works pretty well, I'm able to send mail from TOPS-20 to the outside world. There's a problem though: my messages have IP address instead of hostname in the 'From:' field.
Well, I can override on a per-message basis, but that's obviously not the right solution.... more »
