Lower case characters

It has been a while since I used my TOPS-20 emulation under SIMH and I seem
to have forgotten how to get lowercase characters. I am emulating VT100
using HyperTerm, I have used the following commands:

TERM VT100
TERM LOWER

But it still echoes in upper case. What am I forgetting?

should do it, if it's like my problem was.
