Here's a question for you. I recently bought a new Inspiron 537MT with Windows XP Pro installed on it from the factory. It does indeed have a restore partition which you access from the usual Ctl-F11 method upon bootup. As many may recall, I reported that Dell Windows 7 laptops were unable to establish wifi connections with a US Robotics router. I think this is the wrong forum for this question but can't get an answer on windows forum (yet). I had a fatal error in Windows XP MCE SP3 last month. Ran chkdsk /r to repair and get back into windows. Did a repair install from original OS DVD that came with machine (Dell XPS4). Applied all the security fixes to get back to currency.... more »

Hi Everyone, I'm having the following problem with my M60 laptop. When connected via the port replicator using DVI to an external LCD display, some of the colors are no longer displayed and there's something akin to a background color storm in certain areas (similar to interference). After some extensive traveling the past week with my laptop I realized last night that the light is on constantly on the CD/DVD drive and the drive will not open. Rebooted several times and removed and replaced the drive also and no change. It also does not show in Device Manager. Have I lost it or is there anything else I can try?... more »
