when to defrag?
|
| |
W7 Home. I turned off defrag scheduling as I prefer to do it when I choose. Laptop is running reasonably speedy but when I do the analysis it says 10% fragmented files.
Is there a rule of thumb. Should I defrag?
I use W7 Home

OT - Support for Apple??

Anyone know a decent newsgroup like this for mac stuff? Or a more or less simple online place? I'm thinking of something that a non-nerd user could deal with. She isn't real computer savvy.

But now, after about 15... more »

occurrance. It corrupts text in horizontal bands (the fullwidth of
the screen) and does not seem to affect non-text areas of the display.... more »

"OEM Partition" & Recovery partition on Dell Win7 PC
|
| |
I've been reading about the 100MB System Reserved Partition (SRP) that
the Win7 installation disk makes that contains the boot files. But on my
Dell Precision T3500 workstation that has Win7 Pro 64-bit pre-installed,
there is one 39MB mystery "OEM Partition" and a 750MB NTFS Recovery
partition (marked "active") in addition to the 297GB NTFS Win7 partition.... more »

Linux Mint Cinnamon

Just an aside. I took an old Dell and put Mint on it (the easiest version of
Linux) and it breathed new life into the old Dell.

| |
Hello,
I've installed a Perc 4DC on a non dell workstation with windows 7. I have no issues with the drivers (used the 2003 ones), but I'm not sure what kind of disk management tool I could and should install.
