I have a large ribon cable on the old hard drive and i bought a new 500
gig that supports sata cable but I do not see were I can connect a sata
cable to the mother board?
I have a old tower dell optiplex GX270

should be on the edge of the motherboard, closest to the front

You may also need an adapter from 12v Molex (used for PATA and IDE
CD-ROM drives) to the type of power connector needed by SATA. They are
cheap, or at least they should be. I bought a quantity for a buck
apiece on eBay... Ben Myers
