Subject: new models quiet?
I picked up a low-end Dimension 520 a few months ago...  really
impressed at how quiet the whole system is. I want to pick up a new
box with better specs, but I want something this quiet...  are the new
Inspiron desktops or Vostro this good?  I don't really care about the
video card, I'll probably drop in a card with passive cooling on it.
So I guess I'll need something with a big enough chassis to hold a
GeForce 7950 with big heat sinks.  Advice?

Right now, I'd recommend a Dimension XPS410 from the Dell outlet. New
bundles are running $1199.00 on the new site, but (tower only) systems with
2gb RAM and 128mb or 256mb video cards are starting at $469 (with WinXP Home
but most with Vista).

Not sure how much longer this chassis will be around since it's the lone
remaining Dimension (same chassis as the 91XX/92XX models).....

Stew

I'll second that recommendation!  I have one and it is whisper quiet.
