My new Extensa 7220 has a bluetooth switch on the front but does not seem to
do anything. I have even attached a bluetooth dongle but the switch is
still unresponsive. I have read through the manuals and they mention the
bluetooth and talk as if it's integral but nothing seems to work for me. I
want to get some items off my phone onto the laptop but neither BT or IR
connections work and both are switched on on the phone and as far as I know
on the Laptop.

Help please.

If you can not find information within your manual, then call
End User Technical Support and Service (USA only)
For end user technical support, spare parts and service: 1.800.816.2237

if you are still in warrenty period.

Good luck

You might look into the Acer Notebook Manager..Also in Device Manager
to see if if has
a yellow check mark..If you have a dongle it should have come with
software, probably
Widcomm which has to be set up. If you have installed the software and
still don't
see icons in your tray or on desktop, the software has to be
installed. Bluetooth needs
a software "stack" to operate. Bluetooth is however "vexing" to make
it work for
me.. Good luck!!!

no BT on this model I know the switch is there, but the series uses the same
case on other models

If it is not built into the mother board, you are not going to get it. You
can get a Bluetooth adapter to plug into your USB ports, but unless you have
a solid need, there usually better ways to connect to a laptop. Without
knowing what you are trying to do, there really isn't much more we can tell
you. Be sure, if you buy an adapter, that it comes with drivers for Vista.
or whatever operating system you have.

Good luck.
