Bought two large, heavy glass water drinking
glass, for candle holders. I had an emergency
candle lit, in one. Candle leaning against the
glass.

Klink! The uneven heat from the candle broke
the glass. No damage, dollar glass went in the
trash. No fire.

Learning moment. More dirt, around the base
of the candle, and keep the candle centered.

Hint, fire glass.

You pay for it for a reason. It is heat temepered to duce the inbuilt
tension that causes cracking with uneven heating.

Cheap and clever is often a mistake.

You don't suppose there is a reason the commercial ones put the flame
in the middle.

For $1.69 you could have bought a four or five day candle in clear
glass. Made to take the heat. Surprisingly the wick is in the center.

Get the jars with the candle already in them like the Hispanic Jesus and Mary ones.

Don't know if they have them at Dollar Tree, but
they do have em at the grocery. I have a couple,
and may get to use them. The lights just flickered.

Oh, gosh. Might get to try my night flash light.

Candles aren't going to be high on my list.
The paraffin vapor gives me headaches.
I'd forgotten that.

Bees wax candles. Expensive buy maybe necessary for you. Burn
brighter, whiter, and longer per pound is a slight pay back.

Besides, you'll get some brownie points with Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe,
Jesus y Maria, maybe even enough to overcome your other assorted heresies.

Ecumenical candles used to have high bees wax content.

Hey..those are the Cheapest candles! And they work pretty darned
well. As long as you dont mind a little lead vapor around them....

I melted left over candle wax into a quart glass mayonnaise jar, tied a nut
to a wick and sunk it in the middle. Tied it off at the top to a q-tip across
the mouth of the jar. When it solidified, I had a huge glass candle for
nothing.

I'm supposed to worry about lead vapor at this point in my life?
