a sizeable bottle of Everclear (95% alcohol).
Not to drink, but to have for the preparation of tinctures.
2) Plenty of Apple Cider vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide.
Too many uses to enumerate, but very useful in myriad ways and
not all that easy to make your own.

Douchebag could mix that Apple Cider vinegar with some water, for when he's
not feeling so fresh.
Very good. I like the vinegar idea (I'd get both the raw and the
filtered) and the H2O2 and add witch hazel as an all-around skin
conditioner. As you say, they have many uses and they're cheap.
Everclear is kind of expensive and sometimes hard to find. Definitely
useful for extractions and preserving certain types of preparations.
A good Vodka will work in most cases.
I recommend a library on medicinal herbs and tincturing.
Here's some plants and herbs that have proved useful.
Saw Palmetto
Goldenseal
Bilberry
Butcher's Broom
Cayenne
Dandelion
Garlic
Ginger
Ginkgo
Hawthorn
Lobelia
Motherwort
Mullein
Willow Bark
Calendula
Valerian
St. Johns Wort
Hyssop
Mints
Astragalus
Echinacea
Everclear can be pricey in some places, but the alcohol content is
close to twice as high as the vodkas I am used to seeing.
But ultimately - the argument is about the same as for guns - whatever
one you have with you is better than the one sitting at home in your
safe.
Thanks for the list, by the way...........

Very interesting and potentially helpful. One concern, though, is how
these herbs interact with prescribed medicines. My doctor checked my
supplements and told me to stop taking ginkgo biloba, because it
combines with my prescribed stuff. bookburn
That's true. These are real medicines. Interaction is a definite
possibility. Sometimes this is desired, sometimes not. Got to be
careful.
