Which means your competition went tits up...and your company was one of
the few left to take up the work load that the few customers still in
existance have available..

So what do you do for a living?

"I am for doing good to the poor, but I differ in opinion of the
means. I think the best way of doing good to the poor, is not
making them easy in poverty, but leading or driving them out of
it. In my youth I travelled much, and I observed in different
countries, that the more public provisions were made for the
poor the less they provided for themselves, and of course became
poorer. And, on the contrary, the less was done for them, the
more they did for themselves, and became richer." -- Benjamin
Franklin, /The Encouragement of Idleness/, 1766

Steelmaker from raw materials. i cut crops off of 8x8 billets with a 500
hp electric saw and roll them to 6x6 squares, or 6.825, 5.5 , or 5 in
rounds and feed them to another mill. Or another saw to cut them up. Our
blast furnaces are closed indefinately. Customers are leaving. Honda and
Toyota are dumping us. As they wont take steel made from scrap. Were in
survival mode.

I got sent home anyways . Will start tomorrow nite.

Ayup....many other steel makers are gone..and it appears that you are
going to be making raw materials for someone with a new government
project or a long term contract for a "few" repeat items.

Save everything you can make. Spend as little as possible...save.

Keep in mind that Unemployment may not be something you have when they
lay you off again...read your states requirements carefully.

With the federal spending policies and behaviours. I do not
expect economic recovery any time soon.

Sounds like it's long since past time to pack your pantry
with food, and be looking for your next job.
