Through the screen door I watch the shadows creep across the tree line, slowly
smothering the languishing golden hues. The stillness is great, outdone only
by the underlying throb of mortality. It's 5:52 pm, Thursday March 7, 2000. I
am bound by gravity to a massive blue/green sphere that is teaming with life
forms, all the while racing on an elliptical track around super massive stellar
furnace. I am hungry, and a little tired. I am slightly horny, but otherwise
calm. Birds chirp, dogs bark, and blood continues to pulse through my body --
15 billion years down the linear line.
