Ok, you may have noticed my picture is of Frank, for those of

offended her so much. Like when people tell you to do stupid
things to join clubs or societies. Personally i dont think that
the Skulls, to pick a fictional example, was worth what that lad
had to do to get in. To pick a real life example, the masons,
can't be that good, because they automatically let the royal

Why do gay Christians not find convincing the arguments that
have persuaded Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians for
millennia that homosexual practice is wrong? Liberal
explanations of being gay and Christian begin with experience.
I will give several examples, each reasoned with varying degrees
of sophistication by those who hold their views.
2.7.1 Process theology roots the changing nature of faith in the

Now, Euclid is a mixed bag. Euclid was a systematization, an
attempt to systematize, and actually castrate -- it's called the
eunuch principle. You have a very good geometry by the
Pythagoreans, and Thales, and Plato, and so forth, and his
collaborators, an excellent geometry, which is a physical
geometry, a constructive geometry, with none of this Euclidean
nonsense. Along came the castrators, and they removed the
testicles from geometry, and they called it Euclid.
So, the actual ancient people -- remember, for example,
Pythagoras referred to Sphaerics, which was actually a name for
spherical geometry, which was a name for astronomy. So, actually,
the original ideas of geometry came from astronomy, from
astronomical calendars, and study of astronomical calendars.
This was the idea of universal principle. It came, if you could
look up at the sky, and study the behavior of the stellar system,
you would derive principles you called universal. You assumed
that man somehow was affected by these universal principles
which could be seen in the sky. And this developed the original
kind of geometry.
So, that in, even the transmission of what's called Euclid's
geometry, as treated by people like al-Farabi, in the case of
the Abassid heritage, that even there, the elements of the
original intention, the original discoveries, are reflected. As
we saw in the case of the 15th-Century Renaissance, where a few
teachers, young teachers from a center there, educating, started
a Renaissance, in terms of ideas. By taking the material from
the ancients, the ancient texts, as from, then, they got them
mostly from Greece: With the Greek texts, reworking these, were
able by constructive approaches to understanding them, to
reconstruct much of the knowledge which had been buried over
centuries, in these lost works.

POET'S POSTCRIPT
I am not a Mason, nor am I involved in any effort
to obtain nuclear weapons. I do not really
believe in things "occult", although the occult seems
often to be ringing loudly at the doorbell of my brain,
trying to tell me that I am assuming too much,
by not believing in it.
All characters appearing in this poem are completely
fictional, and yet entirely real.
Real, in the sense that the poem intends to play
the role of "Dr Whatif"- posing the simple question
of "What if?". What if there were gay freedom
fighters who appreciated the subtler points of the
subject of geometry?
There is no such plot, to my knowledge, of oppressed
gays wanting to reengineer the world and to suppress popular
bad attitudes with blunt force of nuclear threat.
But what if there were, and why couldn't there be?
Wouldn't the world be wiser to contemplate that
possibility, in advance, like contemplating what a hurricane
could do to the levees of New Orleans? No one
was trying simply to "scare" anyone, when National
Geographic and Scientific American, just the year
before, wrote with eerie accuracy, about this very
danger.
What makes anyone think that gays worldwide,
getting tired of being constantly pushed around for centuries
by irrational and hateful majorities, could never,
finally get the notion to pursue nuclear weapons,
with every bit as much determination, and every bit
as much chance for success, as any group of
religious extremists?
It is worth weaving a vision to make this more imaginable,
because at the moment, it does not even cross most minds,
not of politicians, of the media, of the public - and it should
be crossing their minds. Before Sept 11, the notion of
planes crashing into buildings did not occur to anyone,
because no one had seen it before.
Actually, it did occur to a few people. It occurred
to a well-known author of fiction books.
It also had occurred to me.
In July and August of 2001, I was talking about this
very notion, at length. I was saying even that cockpit
doors needed to be stronger, reinforced, and locked.
It anyone had been listening, it could have saved a
great deal of grief.
Why was I talking about such things? Was I a
conspirator? No. Was it sheer random, coincidence?
I don't know, but I doubt it. What does it mean?
I'm not sure- I can only speculate, just like you.
The notion of a "Muse" is sometimes regarded with
a touch of amusement. Just a fanciful notion that
poets have. I think that if you think that, you should
not try to be a poet. Call it what you will- telepathy,
inspiration from extra-human intelligences, prescience-
something beyond the current understanding of science,
or the everyday sense of reality.
Funny little coincidences come nearly every day.
I started writing about Masons, last Friday.
Last Sunday was a Thanksgiving dinner with
friends. During the dinner conversation,
someone brought up the subject of Masons.
Never once do I remember any friend every
bring up that particular subject, before.
I forget the context- suddenly it just came up,
but I certainly had not mentioned a word. I never
discuss my poetry with friends, and had posted
nothing.
I never knew much about Masons. One friend
said that that they were "creepy". Another said
something about "Rainbow Girls", which was a
phrase that I had never heard before, and which
is the only reason why it wound up appearing
in the above.
In Cleveland, Ohio, the chess club used to meet
in the Masonic Auditorium. As a kid, I never
knew for sure what this meant. I vaguely heard that they
were a slightly-wacky social/fraternal club.
I thought that they wore funny "fez" hats, but
I guess that is someone else. I think that I vaguely
also confused them with "Veterans of Foreign Wars."
Now, I am aware that "Masons" are the stuff
of conspiracy theory, in a major way. Pat Robertson
apparently has written about them, which is evidence
that this is the nutty side of conspiracy thinking.
Obviously, not everything said about Masons can
be true, because some of it seems contradictory.
They supposedly indulge in ritualistic "sodomy",
yet they also have been blamed for intentionally'
starting the AIDS epidemic. You cannot
credibly have it both ways- claiming that they
spread homosexuality, and also are trying to
wipe out homosexuals.
Too many people, however, think that conspiracy thinking
is entirely, nothing but nutty. Sometimes, the opposite
of a sin is not a virtue, but another sin. It is a sin to
believe bad things about people, simply because you
don't like them. However, it is also a sin to bury your
head in the sand, and be willfully blind to the obvious.
In the overall balance, American tilts more to the
latter. Certainly, it would be very easy to fashion
a conspiracy, and why shouldn't anyone, when so
few people would dismiss the possibility, out of
hand, and refuse even to investigate it?
I doubt that there are secret organizations who are
so powerful, that they can credibly scheme to
dominate the world. The U.S. and its ruling class
a paradoxical mix of great power and extreme
vulnerability.
However, the misperceptions in conspiracy theory
are that power is quite so monolithic, or quite
so focused on the occult, or so hidden, or all-powerful.
However, there *are* organizations that are secretive,
and very powerful. and disturbingly strange- including
the CIA and the military. They *do* have some very
dirty secrets that remain hidden by the power of
propaganda. That much, you could take to the bank
without really needing an investigation to prove it,
at all. That is basic, that is the way that the world
works.
The public would do well to hold its nose for
the world of UFO-type nonsense, but try to peek
much more behind that curtain, to sort out what
it real and what it not. I assure you- when you
start even the most serious-minded investigations,
you will wind up in Wonderland, not because of any
any character flaws of your own, or lack of good
intentions, or lack of intelligence, or skepticism,
but because of the nature of the extremely weird
world into which you are drawn, and the weird
characters that you will meet.
If you do not come out with your sense of
reality challenged, then you have not really
explored Wonderland, sufficiently. The problem
is not in your mind or perceptions- the problem
is in reality.
I had started writing the poem on Friday.
Almost immediately, over the Saturday and
Sunday, I started receiving weird emails
with bits of spam nonsense that meant nothing
to me, but when I started searching for the
phrases, almost all of them were references
to "Alice in Wonderland." I received the spam
by way of an unrelated, private mailing list,
which is otherwise almost never really
used, and which could not easily be discovered
or associated with me, even by picking up
my IP address when I am web browsing.
These sorts of coincidences could have very
rational explanations, of course, but please let
me give you a couple other unrelated examples
from a day-in-the-life of a poet, to lead
you down the rabbit hole, where things like
proportion and logic stop having the same
meaning.
Once my partner (now an officially married partner in
Massachusetts) and I were visiting in Provincetown.
At night, I had a dream. "There is something really
wrong with your eye", I said to him, in the dream.
"You need to see a doctor".
In the morning, he said that he needed to stay
in our room for the day, because his eye had
started bothering him so much during the night,
that he just wanted to rest. He had felt fine,
before we had retired. He had said nothing,
during the night, about his eye- I was sound
asleep.
Now, something like this, could be simple
ESP- a thing that skeptics like to pooh-pooh.
Aren't they quite ridiculous, when they get
so over-confident about what is real and what
is not?
But, now an example of something going
beyond simple ESP. A very silly example, like
my poems, and yet...
I was driving home from work- just another day,
just bored in traffic, just daydreaming.
I often entertain myself by thinking music, instead
of playing a radio. It is somewhat better than
playing a CD, because I can produce not only
the same clarity and volume, but manipulate the sound,
changing strings into a chorus, or into horns,
or changing the lyrics around to make parodies
to amuse myself, while making it sound exactly
like the voice of the singer(s). I wish that I had an
output jack from my head, so I could share this.
I can't otherwise convey even a bit of this, so
it is completely wasted, but some of these parodies
would have made cute "Saturday Night Live" skits.
Sometimes, it gives the feeling that I am doing more
than just imitating voices accurately, but have
possession of the person's soul. I would love to
shock them by giving them this eerie, identical-twin
feeling.
Anyway, I was driving home and
passing a town called Wellesley, Mass, when
I suddenly began daydreaming obsessively with a
really dumb parody song, the "Turkey Twist".
I was mocking another, already-dumb song
"Do You Love Me (Now that I can Dance?)",
which always seemed a bit obnoxious to me,
because the guy seemed to be bragging too
much, about something completely meaningless.
So, I changed the lyrics and changed him into
a turkey, ridiculously thrusting his large
behind and turkey tail-feathers around.
I kept playing this in my head, over and over-
you know, one of those bad songs that you really want
to get out of your head, but you can't. I thought to
myself- "What started this? What on earth even
brought this to mind? How is my brain
working, that out of the blue, I suddenly can't
stop thinking about the "Turkey Twist"?
I get to a town called Canton. Suddenly, I have to
stop. There are turkeys all over the road. I blow
my horn, and they refuse to move. These stupid
turkeys just sit there, and sit there, stopping traffic
in both directions.
More coincidence, or a weird premonition of something
getting ready to happen, like the weird obsession in
July-August 2001 about the hijacking of commercial
airliners?
Thinking about the "Turkey Twist" is silly, like
my poems, yet obviously, sometimes, the silly must
be take seriously.
Even weirder than ESP or premonition, is altering
of reality by thought, alone. Another silly notion,
but I want to lead you deeper into the rabbit hole.
You, the dear reader, may wonder sometimes- why
isn't the government watching this guy? Why are
they putting up with him?
If I may give you a clue- they *are* watching me.
They have been watching closely for almost 20
years. The question is, what have they been seeing?
If you could see everything that they have been
seeing, then you would not be asking, why they
are not doing.
They have been hearing me talk about commercial
airliners and places like Texas City, Texas.
They know very well- I am not a terrorist, am not
communicating with anyone at all. And yet. And yet.
He demands that the whole world stop the oppression
of gays, stop the hate, or else he claims that he will someday
make the entire world dance to the tune of the
"Turkey Twist", using nothing but weapons of
Mad Hatter Destruction.
The real goal of poetry is not portray reality, or
to idealize reality, or to create an illusion. At least,
not when I do it. The real goal is to bend reality,
by power of intention, alone, like a less ambitious
person might try to bend a spoon.
The "Men who Stare at Goats" are not complete
fools, as some skeptics would have you believe.
There are reasons why you find such Alice-in-Wonderland
things, like Pentagon people who stare at goats.
There are things that they saw, which piqued their
interest, of which you are not aware. Not even Ron
Johnson's book, is telling you everything.
Most people can't believe that, and these people should
not attempt to be poets. By the time that we get to
the bottom of the rabbit-hole, they will have little
choice, but to believe it.
Tom Keske
