WS today -- 5/12/12 (shallow)

Headed west to shoot critters. Started off with small waves but found
it to be very shallow. So much so that while I was taking pics, my
knees, chest and thigh was thumping on coral heads. Even though the
waves were small, getting caught inside was scary because you couldn't

Hi, We're hoping to have a dubstep party at the club where I work, and would like to
show some extreme sports videos during parts of it. We want to do surfing and
kiteboarding. Can anyone suggest what they feel are the best vids in those
areas? Also we'd like to include other sports if anyone has good suggestions about vids... more »

Had to get away from the frenetic vibe of Town. Drove away from the
madness and found fun, somewhat mixed up, but fairly uncrowded surf.
Left early, but as I was driving away in a loaned car, one kid in a
small group mooned me! Wtf?

South swell started coming. I shot twice a Bowls: once at dawn with a
fisheye, and the other just after lunch with a bigger zoom during the
state championships. Fun surf with nice conditions. I'm literally
burnt.

Misty rain and totally overcast skies pervaded the morning hours. Surf
was down island wide, and winds were expected to pick up and rain
continue. Where to shoot? Decided to chance Sandy Beach.
Driving out I was encouraged by some patches of clear sky. Maybe might

NS today -- 4/15/12 (late season)

NW swell came in stronger than expected. Heard there were some bombs
the day before. I had some serious frustrations trying to figure out
how to do a "dry port". Mixed results, but overall very promising. Had
to change my shooting technique (more challenging). Standouts were

NS today -- 4/14/12 (surprise)

Went early to look for my GoPro, but after over an hour, there was no
luck. However, I was stoked that there were some pulses coming in,
mostly from the north. Conditions were pristine with barely a touch of
wind and clear skies. Swam from the Beach Park to Rockpile and chanced
upon a nice peak near some exposed coral heads.... more »
