Here are some pics near Dog Beach. I'll try to leave them up for a
few weeks or months.

Nice shots, looks like you had a great time.

I am sure you know this but the water quality is pretty bad at that spot.
Does not matter much now since we have not had a lot of watrer dropping
recently.

KEEP THE JET STREAM NORTH!

Some pics:

The server will be done most of the day. Try Sunday.

Hey,

Your pics arn't bad, just keep in mind when posting images: Load Time.
I'm on a Cable connection, and your pics took a while to come up, i can
only wonder what the experiance is like on 56K or 28.8. A good idea
would be to optimize the pics so that they load quicker. A good program
such as Adobe Image Ready will accomplish this feat for you nicely, or
you can use some online resources which offer picture optimization.
Two good ones are www.websitegarage.com or www.hitbox.com, use these
only if you do not have a photo optimizer program. You can also
download a trial version of Imager ready on Adobes website.

Thanks, I have been in the habit of leaving my pics in original form
out of a desire to not mess them up. It really bothers me when people
take a great picture but then run it through a filter thinking they're
not going to lose anything. I often see pics that have been optimized
which lose so much quality that they are not good for my purposes.
For example, I've always liked this pic that I took, and I use it for
my desktop wallpaper:
http://www.herecomesmongo.com/surf/DSCN00271.JPG

But how much of the background and the surfers and the whole picture
would really honestly come through if I'd modestly messed with the
thing?

But you're right, I've avoided this long enough. I had to take down
*so* many pics this weekend because of the space I was using. Does
anyone have good experience with thumbsplus? Is there a modest
optimizer I can use there to shrink size but retain most quality? I
also have something called "paintshop for hotdog". Well, I'll keep
your suggestions in mind.

I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea for the thumbsplus guy to make
a program so you could simultaneously create and post thumbnails,
smaller filtered pics and larger pics for faster modems.
