Driving through the North Shore I thought the surf wasn't as big as
the buoys indicated. So much so, that I was going to throw on the
fisheye lens. But one look at Pipeline gave me a reality check. A set
was coming through (apparently the set of the morning). Solid 10 ft
plus swell. Got me jacked.
Jumped in in the early light before they called the contest.
Thankfully, that set was an anomaly, and getting out was uneventful.
The lineup was crowded with waveriders trying to get some early.
Conditions were pristine with light offshores with a slightly
declining swell coming in from the west.
As always there are great rides and there are great wipeouts. A new,
even bigger swell is forecast for tomorrow. Should be exciting.
