The wind was howling when I woke up, not sphincter tightening I’m
gonna get a tree through the roof howling, but enough of a wind to
take notice over coffee and breakfast.

I did not even ponder the surf conditions as it was blowing in the
30+kt offshore all night, plus I had designated dad duty, and that was
cool. Right after lunch jr settled down for a nap, I got the call to
immediately cease all dad-ly activities and immediately proceed to the
coast.

Done.
Checked the buoy on the way down, 6’ @ 10” with 28 with gusts 32+ kt
offshore.
Hit it around quarter to one and was blown away, not by the winds but
by the form. Overhead long roping lefts hitting what was left of the
bar and just pealing from the middle of one lot and through three
more. Only five people out, two of which could surf; a good ratio in
my book.

First wave was completely blind takeoff with no bottom turn, for the
first time in a while I could feel the board chattering. Tucked in the
curl and lowered my windage trying to race the lip, well overhead but
I never went low enough to be certain. An absolute screamer of a wave.
Paddled back out ducking through a couple waves, lined up on the house
and grabbed the previous waves identical brother.

I could have left a happy man after those two waves in less than five
minutes.

But I stayed, and made certain I caught as many as possible.
Got gobbled up by a few, missed a section or two, and caught enough
that my arms were rubber in a couple of hours.

All in all just an amazing day,
(some shots from a buddy down the road)

Nice! I'd love to see some decent tropical swell, seems the chubs no
longer like our window - they prefer to jump land masses to other
oceans! :)

Glad you scored!

Meanwhile, there has been plenty of surf to ride down along Florida's
Space Coast. Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the Outer Banks really
got whacked.
