We just had the Dept of Conservation own up to the fact that the promotional
photo they used for NZ. Was not taken in NZ.

"A stunning picture of bottlenose dolphins surfing is being used by the
Department of Conservation to draw attention to a discussion document on
marine mammal tourism in Northland - but it wasn't taken there."

My question is ...can anyone tell me ...where was the photo taken and who
the photographer was and when was it taken ?

Hmm..

Looks like that happened during a contest. I would
guess Maui.

No idea who the photog was.

A google image search led to the same photo, on a webpage
by a guy in PR. I doubt the pic is his, though. I'd guess Hawaii,
or possibly Aus or Baja. I know it isn't the Great Lakes.
Anyway, I think this caption would fit the photo well:

" DUCKDIVE THIS!!!"

I saw the photo earlier this week. I think it was on surfermag or
surfline - contest picture from Australia? Maybe the Bells event. I
thought it was a great shot so I remember it but not exactly where I saw it.
I don't see it on either of those sites now but I believe I saw it earlier
this week. Maybe that provides a start for you.

My bad - still it was used by one of those sites earlier this week as I
haven't been to any others for surfing content lately. If you really mean
to track it down, that might be a good place to start.
