John,

It was very good to meet you in Copenhagen, though I regret that we did
not have enough time to talk. Do you have any comments on the meeting?

By the way, you made a small mistake in your subject line: I hope he
"went public" and not "pubic"!

Hello Roger,

First off all let me say thank you for your contributions to the conference
in Copenhagen. We will find time to talk another time (you have been
warned).

When it comes to this particular artist, you would actually never know,
although I intended to say "public", some of his art is such that the other
expression would be equally fitting. Now we just have to hope to avoid
comments like: "There you see, I told you he was crazy, and did you see the
self portrait with his dick pointed upward like that? I have heard that the
TS people are unable to control their sexual behaviour, and there you have
proof too .............."

It was not my intention to start a debate, but I will keep you informed of
the general development in Norwegian media.

John, Al and I just viewed the website of Nerdrum's art. It's wonderful. We
noted with some interest in his biographical information that he was
'obsessive' about his work and ideas. LOL! No surprise, I guess!

Regarding the potential for controversy over the sexual nature of some of
his work, only people looking for some sort of connection with TS, who know
little about art, or indeed, human behavior, at all, would suggest such a
thing. If one examines contempary music, for one, or some of the "Old
Masters" works, one can't help but note the sexual nature of much of it.

Also included in 'art' are scenes of mother and child, dogs and owners,
battles, horses pursuing foxes, seascapes, sailing ships, etc. Sex happens
to be part of the human condition. If it weren't for sex, none of us would
be here. The phallus is prominent (no pun intended), in many of the world's
religions, as well, as a symbol of fertility.
Another example is merchandising which uses sexual symbols to attract buyers
to everything from cars to breath mints.

Just cause some genius chooses who chooses to use a phallus in his painting
has TS doesn't make him different, bizarre, or otherwise aberrant.

'nuf said.

Thanks for sharing this info with us. Nerdrom's work in displayed in some of
the most famous art museums in the world. How nice for those of us WITH TS
to be able to point to yet, another, genius with whom we share something in
common.
