I'd say I'm just lurking but, since I made this post, that might not be an
accurate statement.

I'm with you, Rick. Old and old-fashioned. It's so hard for me to
give up on something I like and am used to.

Yep; me, too.
I'm sad to see this place decline to the point where pretty soon it'll just
be Old Hateful© yelling at the walls-- getting all the attention he truly
deserves.
That said, I'm mightily encouraged that people are responding so favorably
to porting it to a new venue.

I'll continue to poke my snoot in here to see if there are any real people
hanging about, though.
Someone ought to hold its hand when it dies.

I think it's a good idea to post a link to the new home here every few
days for any newbies who might wander in. The link to this site in
Google Groups has pretty good Google ranking and you never know who
might wander through here that way, though I do have to say that it's
been looking pretty grim lately.

It is sad. End of an era sad. But I'm thankful that the community
doesn't end here.

hugs,

elle

I know on some of the woodworking websites they pick up the usenet
feed. Is it possible for awhile to get it so the website would also
feed to AS3 and Vice Versa. Another of these old people who are slow
to change. I've been to the new site, but the forum form is still a
little strange as I haven't had the time to really do much with it. Ir
looka good but after 20 years I'm a little set im my ways and all the
muscle relaxant and vicoden aren't helping.

I think we've realistically done about as much as this group of
volunteers can be expected to do. I don't know how to bring a newsfeed
into AS3-web and I haven't had any whiz-kid programmers or hotshot web
types step up and volunteer their time or expertise. All those things
would be welcome, of course, but at the moment I don't see a way we can
meld the two places into one.

Sorry,

Youv'e done a great job. It looks great, When I get back to normal I'
m sure all figure it out. I do believe its's best for the AS3 group,
but hopeflly there will alsways be a link to the new site. And I do
believe it was the right thing todo. AS3 has a lot to offer .

you know this is still home to me, it doesn't matter how many groups
there are; the new one, facebook, robbs place etc or where all the
cool kids are hanging out now this is the place where I quit. I might
not post the FAQ's here anymore, or pop in 4 times a day and post 400
"congrats notes" or even check daily anymore but this place is where I
consider I quit smoking at and that has a special place.
