Hi everybody --

A few of you may remember me from years past -- I am in the quit buddies
photos somewhere -- probably one of the earlier pages as I have been at this
quitting thing for quite a while. Well, today I started Chantix -- maybe
this will be the magic quit for me and the FINAL QUIT. I am also leaving
tomorrow for Washington, DC (actually Alexandria, VA) to see my brother
promoted to Lt. Col. and will be there through Friday -- so sometime while I
am there I should smoke my last ciggy.

Hang in there and Hang out here (anyone remember that? I'm surprised I
remembered it, lol)

Coleen
(hopefully still the Sexy-Treasurer of the Jef Fan Club, if I haven't gotten
kicked out of my position, giggles)

Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end
of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow."

Welcome back, Coleen! I used Chantix for this quit and I feel that it
totally wiped my smoking urge center out of existence. So do follow
the script and work it! You have been here so do reread the FAQs at
www.quitbuddies.org when you can and post as much as you can.

YOU CAN DO IT!

Hi all, well, I am now SMOBER!!!!! I waited until I was past the three day
mark to post, lol. The Chantix seems to be working, although I do find
myself standing up to go hunt for the pack of ciggies at different times
throughout the day. Thanks for all the well wishes for this my final quit.

LOL, Jef, I see you are still yur funny ole self, giggles. You are one of
the people I remember from the first time I came here years ago, when you
first quit, how many years has that been now? Ohhhhh dear, I wish I had
seen this post before I left. Geesh, I might have driven right by your
house, lol. Of course, my bro did most of the driving and he drove us
everywhere. I know he lives somewhere by a Target that seems to be on one
of the major streets in Alexandria, lol. And he took us to Old Town for
dinner at a place called The Great Room, I think -- wonderful food and it
was right on the river and we watched the planes coming in to land and we
saw Marine One. The promotion was held in the National Archives with him
standing right in front of the Constitution so it was wonderful too. The
only "touristy" thing I did was go see the 9/lol monument at the Pentagon
and that made me cry. And I rode the Metro and I am claustrophobic but I
survived, lol. Luckily the one we rode took us over the Potomac and not
under it!!!! Gosh, I would have loved to stop and see you. Maybe I will
get out to see him again, but he is being sent overseas again soon for a
year, sigh.

Glad to read that you are now Smober, Colleen and that the Chantix is
working for you. The habits of looking for sickerettes and other
things like that do taper off over time but do smile at them now as
they happen and celebrate that you are freeing yourself! Just read
and post here as much as you can because the more you share the more
you get back. That certainly has been my own experience.
