BM didn't love him so when he was at work she bedded down and 18 year old.
She divorced him, took $50 in cash and the most important thing in his life
his kids. Now 5 years later she wants to manipulate him through
visitation. How does this new wife send a message that there are 2 of us
in this package. This piece of crap also went through our trash when we
were not home and took out papers that were of a personal nature. After we
told her she could drop the kids off anymore and we'd do transportation she
went and got a restraining order. Anyone else out there dealing with a
tramp who can't keep her pants on for a man unless she's married to him? I
really, really tried to talk to her for the kids sake. She uses the kids
to manipulate my new husband and doesn't give a hoot about anyone else but
herself. She told me she didn't think that we had anything to say to each
other. She'd rather deal with him so she can make the topic of family
discussion she and him and not me and him.

let me suggest that you carry a big stick and know how to use it. i find
that is the best, most efficient way to deal with things.

In your last post you said that BM gave more rides then the greyhound. In this
post you refer to her as the town tramp. Does DH use these pet names to? Do
you use them around the kids? If DH ever said anything so hateful about any
woman (including BM) I would slap him. One way to improve your relationship
with BM is to stop thinking of her in such as derogatory way. I know the
insults might make you feel better now but they really only hurt you in the
long run. BM is a human being to and the sooner that you and DH recognize that
she is one, and perhaps why she is inclined to have sex so often the soooner
things will get better.

Yes I completely understand and am still laughing at how much I feel
your pain! My fiance's ex is a total witch....she's been found guilty
of child abuse by Child Protective services (mind you the court STILL
could not make a decision on custody), she was cheating on my fiance
for the last 4 years of their marriage (they were only married 6
years), she couldnt care less about teaching her kids anything to do
with the right thing.......she's total trailer park trash! How long
have you been married to your husband?

That depends on who you ask, where you are, and what kind of witchcraft
you're trying to identify.

In Britain, Wicca (adj: Wiccan) is a term applied only to practitioners of
British Traditional (Gardnerian or Alexandrian) Wicca. These are lineage
based traditions that can be traced back to a single founder. Most
neopagan witches in Britain are Gardnerian or Alexandrian (not the case in
Canada or the US) so the Brits call everyone else 'pagan'

In the US, Wicca has become a bit of an umbrella term for those people
involved in neopagan witchcraft who feel that the word 'witchcraft' has
ugly and damaging connotations with which they do not wish to constantly
deal. 'Pagan' is used by North Americans to refer to neopagan witches,
but also to Asatruar, Odinic Rite, some deep ecology movements, etc... It
is a much broader term.

There are streams of Goddess worship and feminist witchcraft who relish
the word witch, and use it in an explicitly political sense.

Personally, I use 'Craft'. I don't particularly like the way 'Wiccan'
roles off the tongue, and it avoids semantic battles with people favouring
the British usage. It's also fairly fluid.

Way more than you wanted to know, eh Anne? Guess what I've spend a decade
researching...

Not all witches are Wiccans. Think of it this way: Lutherans are
Christians but not all Christians are Lutherans.

Hey Kerri, it isn't just a New York thing, I also use the word "witch" when
referring to someone that I would prefer to call a "bitch". People have been
using the term "witch" for as long as I can remember. Don't feel bad either,
it isn't the first time that is was typed in this newsgroup either. I have
*often* seen people type biowitch in regards to their step childrens bm's. So

I've noticed this before Melissa. I think that what happens is that
when new people post, they (I) have a lot of "that slut/bitch/whore
makes my life hell" stuff to get off their chests. Then they either
realize that serious advice and discussions are the more accepted
form here and either clean up their acts and get down to the issues,
or leave. I remember that my first 20 posts when I first came here
all contained the words "skanky whore." :D I bet if you do a search
on those words at DejaNews it pulls up 50 messages, all mine! :D

But people that *really* function in that mode all the time don't seem
to be comfortable here for long periods, at least that's what I've
noticed.

I don't know if this is going to contribute or not, but for what it's
worth....
The BM in our case, I think, is jealous. Because I could be a full time
parent when her son needed one and she couldn't. Because I had a child and
I am raising said child and did not let someone else raise her.
BUT, she was like 15 when she had her first child, 18 when she had my SS.
Her parents were not good role models for her so how would she know what a
parent is supposed to be?!
I don't know that I'm excusing what she did. God knows, I couldn't have a
child then let someone else raise it while I went out and did whatever I
wanted. I just figure she has to look herself in the mirror and be honest
with herself, I don't.
I also see where she's now trying to turn her life around. She has her
oldest son living at home with her, she seems to be happily married, she's
got visitation with the SS and trying to correct her mistakes.
Unfortunately, I also see where SS is jealous because I had a child and I'm
raising said child, that I spend time with Tori, that I think nothing of
plopping down on the couch and watching Barney or Winnie the Pooh for the
15th time. As much as his grandparents did for him materialistically, he
never had anyone willing to spend the one to one time with him -- whether it
was reading a book when HE wanted or just watching a tv program.
If I've had bad thoughts towards SS's mom, I've always kept them to myself.
We're the ones that invited her to his 12th birthday, yet his "wonderful"
grandparents refused to come because SHE was going to be there. Gee, now
how's that to make your only grandson feel special?
All you can do is whatever you think is in the best interest of the child.
If she's leaving the child home alone, then yes, you need to call DFS and
the police. If you think she's the town tramp...Sorry, that's none of your
business. Unless she's locking the kid in a closet or somewhere else so her
and whoever can "get it on", there's nothing illegal about having "friends"
spend the night.
But sooner or later your SD is going to be able to figure out that you don't
like her mom. No matter what, that person is still her mother. You can
think whatever you like about her when SD's not present.
My in laws think I'm the bitch from Hell. The fact that they're right
bothers me not one little bit. When they take SS out shopping knowing his
mom is coming to get him but they don't call to find out when, I have a
problem with that. They may not like his mom, but she's still his mother
and if she's coming to pick him up, he jolly well better be at my house!
When everybody tells me it was MY responsibility to tell THEM when she was
coming (knowing I was home all week with a child with pneumonia), I have a
problem with that. If they have a problem with ME telling THEM that this
kid's mother deserves common courtesy and respect, just because she's his
mother, that's their problem.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that sometimes people act the way they do
because of attitudes. I try very, very hard to never, ever, ever go see my
in laws. I plan on spending Thanksgiving and Christmas at my own house,
eating turkey I fixed myself. Why? Because I'm tired of dealing with my in
laws and their attitudes.
After telling them off last year, they returned all my Christmas presents.
I got nothing for Christmas, not even a card for my anniversary, no
acknowledgment for Mother's Day (even though SS lives with us) and nothing
for my birthday.
My husband got Christmas presents, Father's day gifts, and birthday gifts.
His birthday is the day after mine!
Yet, I'll bet $20 come Thanksgiving and Christmas, my in laws won't have any
idea why I would choose NOT to come spend the holidays with them.
And yes, Tori's staying with me!

She too can't keep her pants on either, and she's never been married, so I

Number ONE: don't let her get to you! That is what she is trying to do, don't

Kerri,
Name calling? I searched backwards... shrug...
My DH prefers "Bitch" to "witch" when describing his exwife. I avoid it though
because I think it give all female dogs a bad rap and thats not fair! On the
other hand *I* have a problem with *witch*. Although I was raised Methodist
I have studied many of the earth cultures and found peace with the early
druids.... nearly benign ....but...I have an alternative: Bottom Dwelling scum

You know Melissa I find this 'how women talk about women' thing quite
interesting.

I think that in much of life, women are 'setup' to hate other women. I think I
was programmed right from the off to slag other women off. I have a conspiracy
theory that it's been done by men for generations because they *know* how
powerful women are and that they *know* that they wouldn't stand a chance if
all women did suddenly get together, re-unite and take over the world.

For example, I used to *always* find something to hate in every woman who was
in the public eye. It was natural for me to find the one thing they did that
was horrid and then use that as a basis to dislike them and/or thinking they
were a bad example. There are still women I dislike, but once I woke up to how
self defeating it was for me to do this, I now consciously will try and like
women in the public eye. There are still some I dislike, but these days I make
sure they're *really* doing something I find objectionable before I jump on the
bandwagon of criticising them.

I do think it is a world-over way to keep women down. My god if we can't even
be grateful to the strong women in the public eye that we see today then how
can we expect to provide good female role models to our children?

Having said all of that I find that very difficult to 'align' with my feelings
about the BMs in my situation. Admittedly, 5 years in (it was our 5 yr
anniversary of meeting two days ago) I've got over the 'slut, whore, trailer
trash' thing.

I am all for celebrating all sides of women whatever they choose to do. But
then I start thinking about women who do porn movies or prostitutes and I still
hate that. So I'm working on it.

Just thought it was interesting that's all!

I've always thought that women were WAY too judgmental of other women. I've
seen it a million times, just in the small Internet circles I run in. Get
on a breastfeeding board some time! :D But it's true. WOH moms judge SAH
moms, SAH moms *BIG TIME* judge WOH moms. Breastfeeding moms judge bottle-
feeding moms, each sect of mothers seems to have a big judgmental contingent,
in fact. Never mind career women, don't get me started. And all it does is
sap the power force from all of us. Men are conditioned (were conditioned,
hopefully?) not to accept us as powerful beings, other women are conditioned
to pick us apart, we are conditioned to have low self esteem and body image
problems. It's something we should all be fighting all the time.

Whooowowowwow here I am

OK, I'm all for this. My only input is on the "us" and "them" nature of
the whole concept. I don't have any wonderful solution or easy way to
look at it, just that at some point I recognised that men and women were
a single species - really took that on board. I started seeing that *any*
problem or dis-ease that was occurring in apparently only one sex was
also occurring in the other, albeit probably buried.

Not provable I know, but it certainly got me looking differently at
things, and created a great deal of ease where there was previously
discord. It required my partner of the time to take it on board too.

Okay, my funny embarrassing trailer trash story...(I lived in a 14X80
Marshfield while married to ex... almost 6 years.... so I was a TT at one
time)

My co-workerJeni and I were talking about her favorite store, the local
Wal-mart and her excitement about getting a new Target in her hometown. I
told her about my local Wal-mart... it's really really nasty... I said it
just made me uncomfortable going in there, because it was so dirty and the
clothing looked like stuff that poor folk or trailer trash would wear....

Everyone cracked up because Jeni also lives in a mobile home!!! So I was
duly embarrassed because not only had I slammed her favorite shopping store,
but I hit her with the trailer trash thing as well!!! The next day, I
bought her a bar of Godiva chocolate... with a note that said I hoped that
she would enjoy it... and forgive me! She replied back that she did and
that she loved it because as trailer trash that shops at Wal-mart, she
didn't get those luxuries too often!

It was funny at the time.....

My ex used to call me the queen of his single-wide trailer.... YUCK!!!

I have a question now... since we have a pop-up camper... doesn't this make
me a trailer trash wannabe???

It's all in good fun!!!

I think the reason why we are so hateful towards women is because we really
don't like ourselves. we are projecting our own feelings and insecurites onto
an easy target. We are taught by others to do this from the begining. I have
done it, seen my mother do it, and I am starting to see SD do it. I won't say
that someone can't say something because I believe in free speech but I will
say that some things said on here irk me to no end. Thanks to Anne, Niki, and
Kevin.

Wow, mine was only 12 wide and 68 long ( I believe that included the
hitch LOL) I used to dream of having one of those big ones!

Twenty years later, he's still living in it.... I suppose now that he's all
done paying child support, they'll be building a house or even better, in
the world of trailer trash - buying a modular home!

BTW, he and his new wife had their babies... twin girls, they came early...
but my kids want nothing to do with the babies either.... oh well.. as I've
said many times, they're old enough now to decide for themselves! I feel
bad for ex and wife though, as the babies were such preemies and that can be
so scary....

uh-huh. When I started working in the Technical Department of a chemical
company as the first non-secretarial female employee the company had had,
guess who it was that expected me to make tea for my male co-workers, type
the boss's letters, etc. And who it was that got really cheesed off when I
pointed out that that wasn't what I'd been employed to do? Yep - the women
in the company. It always puzzeld me that it was the women who really
resented another woman entering the male-dominated part of the work.

Just tagging on to Nikki because I love her name *grin*

My whole point in arguing the "trailer park trash" thing is... not
everyone who lives in a manufactured home is trash. It's like saying
that every rich person is greedy. Or every colored person is bad. It's
just another stereotype... and I hate stereotyping.

Hugs to Nikki, *smile*

I just wanted to stick my two cents in here, in defense of the housing
issue...I lived in a manufactured home(of course, they were still
called trailers then)for a few years when I was in grade school...and I
still miss it. My mom lives in a mobile home, and it's bigger and nicer
than most "real" houses I've seen. As the cost of housing here is
getting to be so high, DH and I plan to buy a manu home, sometime in
the next few years....I dont see a thing wrong with it. I think it's
pretty mean to judge a person based on where they live...or their
physical/mental status, their sex, job, how they dress, look, feel,
etc.....
(congrats on the decision, Nicole! Happy home shopping!)

No, don't. It's a delicate thing, balancing tolerance for
posters' need to vent against your own need to speak out when
you're offended. Eventually, someone's got to object. Since
all I can think to say is, "Look, women can fuck like bunnies
and be damned good mothers," it's something I feel I should
leave to other, more erudite, posters. Like you.

I really like Madeline Albright and Janet Reno. I guess I'm a
sucker for "take it on the chin" women.

LOL...

We closed on our new one yesterday. We then laid on the very soft new
carpeting and enjoyed the heck out of the place before we moved our
furniture in.

Who are they then? I don't know them and would love an explanation if they're
really 'take it on the chin'! Which i like to think i am but probably wasn't when I
was sobbing earlier outside the solicitors at the complete hopelessness of our
situation...
