Well, one semester down. I did not wish to jump into the deep end of
the pool so I started the Winter semester with only two courses - a
survery of Western history from 1660 and Medieval History. History is
my new major, of course. With teh credit for poast degrees, i am over
half way to another degree.
In both courses, the profs were excellent. I wanted to applaud after
each 1660 lecture - he was that good! Medieval was mostly church vs.
secular but interesting nonetheless.
I have to get used to the Chicago Style which I have not used before.
i also learnt that History Departments are notorious for low marks.
Such being the case and while I still have yet to get my final marks,
I ran with As and Bs. The calls averages are apparently in the C
range. Of course, I have an advantage. What the "kids" in class view
as history is more current affairs to me. After all, I grew up
surrounded by vets form WW2, Korea and even WWI. So the 20th century
was an easy one to study.
The classes are wonderful and UNBC is a great campus. Rated as one of
the top small universities in Canada, it has a beautiful campus. I am
now well know by library staff as I tend to over-read. If one reading
is assigned, I read five more articles on the topic. I also order in
books from other libraries. The new technology with programs like
Write-and-Cite or RefWorks is simply astounding. Remember those old
wooden boxes of index cards? Well, I certainly do and they are long
gone.
On May 7, I start the spring/summer semester with four courses. A
history course in original primary research in Barkerville, the gold
rush town south of us, two political science courses on municipal
matters, and one English course on research papers to upgrade my
skills in using these electronic marvels. Better planning would have
seen me take that course first, but now is catch-up. If I am getting
Bs and As now, the additional help should be reflected in As!!
Now, having home duties, I have not really caught up with the social
scene. The university has a pub which I have yet to visit. We are
finishing the renovation of our home so that demands I head down the
hill to town after each class. We now have a new storage shed, will
soon have a guest room from the old garage, another bathroom added and
a walk in bathtub for Sonia. Thankfully we foudn two excellent
contractors to do the work.
Oh yes, gone is the old PC. Status is important, so a new MacBook Air
was purchased. Most students seem to use Apples. Sonia is playing
with her IPad3. I am really enjoying mine.
A legal settlement has funded the renovations and more. The vehicles
upgraded and renovations underway, computers and more. Life has
turned out very well.
I really recommend returning to university if you can. It is a better
experience that when you were younger - it is refreshing and
invigorating to mix with younger minds and think instead of vegging
out 24/7. And it is a challenge!

So many years have passed, maybe JU's just moved on...
And maybe you should consider doing the same. You *are* a
little old for this kind of silliness, after all.

I see Willy Boy is still so insecure that he occasionally has to post
silliness like this….
What a complete load of crap.
Funny how he seems to still imitate me… A Mac? An iPad 3? Odd, since
there is no such beast. It is the iPad, no 3… Sounds like Willy Boy is
making stuff up again. Ah, but he seems to have wind some money in a
lawsuit. I suppose he has learned to work the system some more. How
typical.

Hmm. Did my earlier post mention Usher in any way? I do not believe
it did. Not once.
I suppose that is why he had to try to make it about him! As to
calling the newly released IPad by the name IPad3, I seem to have a
lot of company including TIME magazine and a few others...

He's a successfully employed salesman at a lingerie department now so
he knows about these things!
Oh hey I wonder how long his lingerie career will last when his
employers find out about his short lived fetish fiction career? Or his
misuse of Uni business computers ? It would be a shame to get fired now
and lose all of that 8 bucks an hour he's making before 9 months are
up and he can go back on unemployment for another 2 years. Somehow I
just don't think he is going to last 9 months. Do you?

ago before I killfiled him, but the last post I saw from him had headers
that identified his OS as OS X 10.4.something-or-other -- IOW Tiger,
probably running on a powerpc machine. So, we know he's using an older
Mac, fantasizing about an iPad. Then you come along with an actual iPad.
You're a home owner, he lives in subsidized housing in the ghetto.

the only reason he doesn't is it would only prove what a liar he is.
I haven't seen him in perhaps five years now, but I can never forget.
He's Hoss in a thrift store muumuu, hating the world because he's not
the pretty, pretty princess. Zero self-awareness, no intelligencde,
even less self-acceptance, and lazy as the day is long. Tragic.
Now I hear he claims to be in lingerie sales -- obviously that means

All my groups have moved to mailing lists or forums now,
and it's obviously silly to renew my usenet access just for
a.s.srs (and I despise groogle goups), so this is it.
I won't miss this group, but I miss the old days when usenet
was useful and informative. Of course, this group never was

don't remember what name he was using the last time around. And there is not
much to out anyway… No one would ever imagine he was anything other than
trans I do remember that he claimed, at one point, to be HIV positive. That
was before he moved on the claiming to have some other dread disease. Oh
well, Goat Boy has his fantasies, and I have reality. Quite different. As
I have said, no one knows much of anything about what is going on with me,

blog, and completely misunderstood what was said. When I transitioned,
years ago, my first job was working in a department store, and yes, I worked
in lingerie. That was over ten years ago… Not remotely something recent.
And no, I have never worked in a sex shop. Good grief… This is why I call
them idiot trolls.
In any case, perhaps the question Goat Boy should be dealing with is why he
hates me so much? Perhaps he should look in the mirror before making false
claims about others.

says UNIBIN? That means "Universal Binary." That refers to Macintosh software
that runs on BOTH Power PC and Intel Macs. In the case of Xnntp, the program
runs on anything from Tiger on. It has nothing to do with the OS, just that
particular program. For your further edification, here is a link to a Wikipedia

So, no, as I said, I am currently running Lion, and previously ran Snow Leopard.
And in this particular case, I am running software that will run on an older Mac
because I happen to like this particular newsreader, and it has not, as far as I
am aware, been upgraded. Granted, newsreaders are no longer a high priority
item.
And I would not go so far as to call you an idiot…just someone who is not that
knowledgeable about Macs. Or reading headers. Or, perhaps, computers in
general. No, the term I would use for you is luser, not idiot.
