this case.
The short answer is, nothing.
The longer answer is, I refused to obey this person's demand that I help
shut down alt.support.srs. The ironic thing is, I helped this person, who
goes by the name Diane Lask, when said person was in need of help. Lask was
homeless and asked to stay with me for a few days. I allowed it, even
though I suppose I should have paid attention to a friend who warned me not
to. Lask is a seriously disturbed individual, and when Lask has it in for
you, watch out. There is another person on line who Lask has been stalking
for who knows how many years now. That person has not even posted online
for some years, and Lask still obsesses over them.

1.What is going on here? This place seems to be a mess!
This is alt.support.srs. It was created when alt.transgender was broke up
in a vain attempt to end the flame wars that occurred there back in the
mid-Nineties. Unfortunately, it quickly deteriorated into its own flame
wars, and has pretty much deteriorated to its present condition.
This group is dominated by a group of trolls. Now, in case you don't know
what a troll is, here is the canonical definition from the Jargon File:
troll: 1. v.,n. [From the Usenet group alt.folklore.urban] To utter a
posting on Usenet designed to attract predictable responses or flames; or,
the post itself. Derives from the phrase "trolling for newbies" which in
turn comes from mainstream "trolling", a style of fishing in which one
trails bait through a likely spot hoping for a bite. The well-constructed
troll is a post that induces lots of newbies and flamers to make themselves
look even more clueless than they already do, while subtly conveying to the
more savvy and experienced that it is in fact a deliberate troll. If you
don't fall for the joke, you get to be in on it. See also YHBT.
2. n. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts
specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion
list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a
discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that they have no real
interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter
flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no
redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form

regular participants in a newsgroup of mailing list, they can still cause
problems because the necessity for these measures is not immediately
apparent to newcomers; there are several instances on record, for example,
of journalists writing stories with quotes from kooks who caught them
unaware.

You know, it is ironic that they try to accuse me of trolling, when I am not
the one who posts obsessively to the group, trying, desperately, to get a
response.
2.Does anyone actually read this group?
At present, there appear to be four or five people actually reading here,
including myself. I don't know if anyone else is around, or not. Possibly
not, but what the heck, this FAQ will drive the three or four trolls present
up the wall, so why not?
3.So, who are the "players" here?
First off, there is myself, Jennifer Usher.
Then there are the "Three Stooges." Now, like the original three stooges,
there are actually more than three. But, for a long time, there were just
three, and they have that juvenile, male nature about themselves, so the
name just seems perfect.
First, there is the groups "Moe." I refer to this person as "Dickhead David
because, well apparently his birth name was "David," and he really is a
dickhead. Out in the real world, he goes by the name "Diane Lask," though
he has tried to hide his identity by using the name Diane Arons. Given his
silliness, it is no wonder he tries to hide his identity. And he is perfect
as the group's "Moe" because he tends to be something of a leader wannabe,
he has that angry, sadistic quality, and well, his hair style does look a
bit like Moe's bowl cut.
Second, there is the group's "Larry," This would be the one I refer to as
Goat Boy. He used to use the nick, "Mabel the Storm Goat. Then he was
Electra for a while, and now he calls himelf "Fluffy Bunny," Trust me, if
you met this fellow, you would not be thinking either fluffy, or bunny. He
is very obviously "transgender." And well, he does look a lot more like a
goat than anything like a bunny. Like Larry, he plays second banana to the
group's "Moe," and well, his hair would remind you a bit of Larry's hair. I
knew him in the real world, but I cannot remember which names he used. Like
many TGs he changed his name occasionally, never quite happy with whatever
he was calling himself.
Third, there is the group's "Curly." This would be the infamous "Willy Boy"
who has trolled the world of transsexuals as "Willow Arune. Born William
Orobko, he has a bizarre history and a bitter hatred of anyone who has ever
successfully transitioned. He plays the role of Curly well, with his rather
large size, his idiotic behavior, and well, while not bald, he does have the
beginnings of male pattern baldness.
Finally, there is the group's "Shemp." A less than stellar player, the man
who calls himself "Hautebebe" is only an occasional member of the troupe.
Like Shemp, he is something of a mystery.
There are a few others who post occasionally, like "Ruby." I have a pretty
good idea who Ruby really is, but hey, it's not me...in spite of what has
been claimed. Of course, the idiot trolls, who have done plenty of sock
puppetry, don't want to believe anyone might actually disagree with them.
4.Is this the same "Diane" that has been here forever?
Yes, this person has been trolling these waters since the beginning, and was
active on Fidonet before that. This nutcase has maintained a long term
obsession with a fellow nutcase who called himself "Laura Blake" for a
number of years. It turned out that his real name was Lyle Blake, and even
though he left here long ago, Lask has continued to obsess over him, even
going so far as to dig up dirt on him recently.
Ironically, Lask made peace with me, and we actually became friends for a
while. I even let Lask sleep on my floor for a couple of days, though he
now denies it. It turns out that while Lask was claiming to have well
paying jobs as a programmer, he was actually quite broke and homeless. It
was never completely clear what happened, but Lask does have decent computer
skills. I have suspicions as to what led him to be on the skids, and it
probably involved some sort of theft, but that is just, as I say,
suspicions.
Lask spent a couple of days crashing on my floor, and then he moved in with
a post-op who identifies as a lesbian, but who is more "tranny chaser" than
anything else. I know this, because at the time, I had a personal ad on
Craig's List (I was still pre-op at the time, and felt it was safer to be
upfront) and this person contacted me. I was not really interested in
dating a woman, but I was volunteering at a research project targeting
"transgender people" at UCSF and I figured helping recruit subjects would
look good. When I talked to the person, she said that a friend was going to
stay with her. I had a hunch, and asked if it was Diane Lask. It was. I
found that rather interesting.
I felt sorry for Lask, but I have to say, this is one sick puppy. I
remember him showing me his pepper spray and saying that he was considering
finding some homeless person to test it on. At first I thought he was just
making a sick joke, but then I realized...he was serious.
Now, at the time, I promised Lask I would not reveal his "secret" but when
it became clear that he was the anonymous troll who was making increasingly
vicious attacks (he mentioned some things that only Lask would have known),
I decided that my promise was no longer binding.
5.So Why is this person so nasty?
The most likely explanation is, simply because this person is nasty. But, I
suspect that some of the obsession is a result of his botched surgery. You
see, Lask does not have a functioning vagina. Now, why he never had this
corrected is beyond me, other than possibly finances.
As to my personal issues with Lask, these began when he decided that he
wanted alt.support.srs to go away. He has always seen this as his personal
kingdom, and he made the decision that he wanted this group to die. When I
declined to obey his imperial edict, he turned on me. At first his crap was
sort of amusing. I suspected it was him, but I was not sure. Then as he
got increasingly nasty, I figured if it was him, he would bring up the time
he spent with me. When he did, I knew it was him, and I fought back. He
does not take kindly to those who stand up to him.
6.So, how do you know "Goat Boy?"
I met this person during the time I was living at a local homeless shelter.
He was there as well. I immediately read him as "transgender" (as did
everyone else in the place) but he did not know I was a transsexual until I
told him. He tries to deny this now, but the record shows he previously
admitted it.
Again, we were friends...until someone pointed out that he was clearly not a
transsexual. I could not, in good conscience, disagree with that assertion,
and he, quite simply, blew a gasket because I would not "defend him," He
has since engaged in vicious attacks, most of which involve outright lies.
Goat Boy is quite the character. When I knew him in the shelter, he claimed
to be HIV positive. I remember this, because at the time, I was rooming with
a person who was, well....interesting. Among other things, she claimed to
have psychic powers, and the ability to heal people. I never took her
seriously, but I figured it was better to humor her. I remember talking to
her about "healing" Goat Boy of having HIV. She said she had never done
that before, but would try. Who knows, maybe it worked because more
recently, Goat Boy claimed to be dying from lymphoma. In fact, at the time,
he was literally at death's door, but has since had an apparently miraculous
recovery. The only thing that can be definitively said about Goat Boy's
health is that he obviously suffers from M�nchausen syndrome.
7. So what is the deal with "Willy Boy?"
Do a Google search for "Willow Arune," and you will discover that this
person is major net kook with a long history of attacking transsexuals. He
had surgery in a bizarre effort to deal with a rape he claims occurred in a
Thai jail. His story is totally bizarre, and is well documented. It is
really not worth repeating here, when it is so easily researched online.
8.What is the deal with your kill filing everyone but "Willy Boy?"
This is a good question. It is very simple. Willy Boy desperately wishes
to be kill filed by me. Deep down, he wants to be unchallenged in his
efforts to post his crap here. As it is now, he knows it will be quickly
refuted, and he has quite even trying. On the other hand, the rest of the
stooges desperately want my attention. Even though I only see them when
they are quoted, I know they post obsessively. And from what little I see,
I know that many of their posts consist of outrageous lies in the hope of
goading me into responding. They also fantasize that I am reading their
crap, and am just devastated by it. Oh well....
9.So, what lies have they posted?
Well, a very common one is that I have not had SRS. I had my surgery on
February 10, 2006. They know this is true, but they keep repeating this in
the hopes of getting me to respond. My surgery was covered by insurance
from my job. It was not, as some have tried to claim, performed in
Thailand. It was not, as Willy Boy tried to claim, performed by a "no-name"
doctor. My surgeon was not a well known as some, but my surgeon was well
qualified, having been trained by Dr. Laub, perhaps the top SRS surgeon of
all time.
Another lie, that seems to have become popular, is that I am living in a
homeless shelter. Now, while it is true that I was once in a shelter (as
were at least two others here), that has not been true for over six years.
I live in a residential hotel. As I have pointed out, I spend less than a
fifth of my income on housing. That leaves a lot for other things, like
travel, and other pleasures. And contrary to a number of claims, while this
place is not exactly "Nob Hill" it is not as bad as some make it out. A
range of people live here. Some are challenged. Some, such as myself, hit
hard times for a while. Many of the people here are quite decent
folks...much nicer than the three who wish to attack me.
It is easy to find people more than willing to attack any place that
provides sub-market rate housing. There are a lot of people in San
Francisco who think, as former mayor Willie Brown supposedly said, no one
should be allowed to live in San Francisco who does make at least $100,000.
So, they can find more than a few articles that slam places like where I
live. Interestingly enough, like much of San Francisco, my neighborhood is
undergoing gentrification. Around the corner there is a rather upscale
eatery...right between two relatively inexpensive ethnic places. For a
while, there was a pretty ritzy night club there as well, though it is
undergoing some sort of renovation. Next door to my building, there are
relatively expensive condos. This is just the nature of San Francisco. And
as these sort of things move into a neighborhood, there is an effort to move
affordable housing out.
As I have observed, their attitudes about this show their attitudes of male
privilege. Even though both Goat Boy and Dickhead David have seen hard
times, they just cannot get past their sense of privilege. They have no
understanding of life as a single woman. One does what one has to do. As I
have said, I could spend more on housing, but I prefer being able to visit
my daughter and grandchildren. Of course, as I say, the idiot trolls are
very male in their attitudes. Things like that are lost on them.
It is also claimed that I have some sort of "workfare" job. Again, not
true. I am a career (i.e. permanent) employee. I have received several
advancements since starting with my employer. And no, I am not "hidden"
away as some claim. Nor does my current position have anything directly to
do with "transgender people." There is currently one project that
specifically targets transgender people, and other than the same work I do
for all projects, I have nothing to do with that.
And I might add, for a job that they claim is non-existent, all three of the
primary stooges went to great lengths to try to get me fired. Those efforts
were laughed off, by the way. Oh, and Dickhead David's latest one was a
hoot. He claims to have sent a copy of this to people I work with along
with the claim that I was "outing" people. I mean, really? He is even more
irony personified than Willy Boy.
One of the most absurd claims is about my weight. While I could stand to
lose a few more pounds, I have never weighed anywhere near what is claimed.
But, hey, nobody said these idiots are concerned with facts. Granted, I do
seem to have lost about 75 pounds according to the latest from Dickhead
David.
A new lie, or at least a newer version of an old lie, is that my ex divorced
me for non-support. The actual grounds, as with almost any divorce, was
irreconcilable differences. In our case, it was that I was becoming a
woman, and she was not a lesbian. So, that is just fiction on the part of
Dickhead David.
And another part of this same lie is that I moved in with an older man.
Actually, the man I lived with for a year was actually a bit younger than I
was (no, not that much younger...knowing the idiot trolls, I can just
imagine the next round of lies, but hey, I can use a good laugh). Nor was
he moved to a managed care facility. His father moved him to a less
expensive apartment. During our year together, I worked, and he was on
disability. I did not live off of his Social Security checks, as I paid for
quite a bit of stuff out of my income. His father just felt that the place
cost too much, and found a place where he could qualify for "Section 8."
And no, I was not his "gay lover." We did not have a sexual relation, as I
was pre-op and besides, he was not really able to have sex because of his
injuries. But, idiot trolls have dirty minds. And some of them tend to be
bizarrely homophobic. Which is really odd, given that Lask has been in a
"lesbian" relationship with a post-op tranny chaser, and any relation with a
male would not be able to involve any sort of normal sex.
A favorite taunt of all of the increasingly obsessive trolls is about how
quickly I respond to Arune. That is funny for several reasons. First, I
generally respond to Arune when I notice he has posted a message. When I am
checking my email at home, I can see, easily enough, if there is a message
in this newsgroup. If there is one, I click on the group. If the message
is from a kill filed troll, it disappears at that point. (That is how I know
they are still posting, though unless quoted by another, I have no way of
know who, or what is, posted.) If it is from Willy Boy, is from someone who
is not in my kill file, or if it is spam, I see it. I then respond, unless
there is some reason to wait. I usually wait only if there is something I
need to research to answer the post. That is very rare now, as most posts
are either Willy Boys inane silliness, or they disappear.
Since I don't post during working hours, when I respond varies. If he posts
early in the day, I may not respond for hours. If he posts closer to when I
get off, it may take less time. If, as occasionally happens, he posts while
I am answering other email, I may post right away. Now, only the most
desperate of idiot trolls would try to make something out of this. But yes,
that is exactly what the idiot trolls here have tried to do.
Yet another common lie among the idiot trolls is that I am uneducated. In
truth, I have quite a few years of college. In truth, I probably have six
or seven years total. So, why no degree? I changed majors a lot. Let's
see, I started out in American Studies, switched to Journalism, then went
back for Electronics Engineering Technology, followed by pre-engineering,
and wound up taking several courses in pursuit of a nursing degree. Of
course, you have to remember, all this time, I was dealing with being a
transsexual....something that none of the idiot trolls can relate to, since
the all seem to have decided they wanted to become women late in life, after
successful careers. And, since completing transition my life has
improved...and theirs have all gone down. Go figure.
The simple bottom line is, truth simply doesn't matter to the idiot trolls.
For example, Dickhead David, in one of his attempts to claim someone else
was me, made a big fuss about how the message was crossposted to several
groups. He claimed this was the same behavior as "Lyell Blake," who he is
still obsessed with years after he left the group. Never mind the fact that
this is actually classic behavior for him. Yes, Dickhead David Lask is
probably the worst about crossposting to unrelated newsgroups in his
trolling attempts.
10. So why not just walk away from it all, and let this place die?
That is a good question. First off, I tried that. Some years back, I made
an agreement with my boss at the time that I would stop posting to the
group. It was not required, as I was posting on my own time, and my boss
had no authority to make this a requirement, but I was still in my
probationary period, and well, unlike some here, I'm not an idiot. Even
though I stopped posting, Willy Boy continued to attack me. He was rather
enjoying having the freedom to attack without me being able to respond.
Once I was past probation, and was protected from being fired without good
cause, I returned.
Now, we have Dickhead David, aka, Lask. This idiot troll still obsesses
over Lyle "Laura" Blake years after Blake has not only left the group, but
has stopped even living as a woman. Blake moved on, but Lask cannot. He is
obsessed with this place. It is his life. He spends hours searching for
something he can use against his imagined enemies.
In a way, it would be interesting to leave. What might be forgotten is that
Lask has targeted both Willy Boy and Goat Boy in the past. Both of these
idiot trolls are so blinded by their hatred towards me (Willy Boy because I
am successful, and Goat Boy because I refused to acknowledge him as a female
because he is an avowed non-op) that they forget that fact. They overlook
the fact that Lask was on friendly terms with me until I declined to obey
him and leave the group when he decided to shut it down. They probably
actually think that if I leave, their little love affair with Lask will
continue. Boy, would they be in for a surprise.

Since when did American surgeons do SRS on morbidly obese people?
Usher at the time of his alleged surgery was pushing 300 lbs -
maybe a bit more.
We've heard story after story of surgeons turning down candidates
until they got down to a reasonable weight. Doctors do that
because being morbidly obese carries a hugely greater risk in any
surgery and a doctor won't preform elective surgery (which
SRS is classified as) until the patient lowers the weight.
But not Ushers magical surgeon. Usher's imaginary surgeon
operated on him while he was morbidly obese.
That fat homeless bastard NEVER had SRS.

Im David and your a some HIV positive non op well thats nice. I realy cant
remember when Jennifer actually got it right here.
The last time I saw Dianne, Laura or anyone else as themselves here was
about 7 years ago. They all moved on to bigger and better things (got on
with their lives). Sick of being terrorised by the bully of SRS.
Who in their right mind would admit where they live espc under the
circumstances, I have seen peoples personal details splashed across this
group time and time again, the reason I now sit behind this anon remailer.

the biggest ones of all. One thing I have learned about the internet since
the mid 90's unless you know the person face to face trust noone till you
meet them and get to know them.
One thing I have found in the trans community there is a Jealousy that you
dont often see anywhere else. My partner and I stick to ourselves and are
accepted as who we are by our work colleagues as well as in public. We dont
need to be in your face to be who we are. I only stay here to make sure
that some innocent doesnt get caught in the flytrap that is SRS. Try to
direct them to somewhere where there isnt this type of harrasment.
Jennifer you really are a coward, your answer to when someone points out the
truth is to supposedly kill list them. I guess thats why your friends list
is so big.

IME there is no true trans community. There are assimilated TSes and
TGs, and then there are the fetishists and "failed trannys" who remain
ghettoed together in their miserable inability and/or determination to
avoid moving on to anything resembling a normal life. Lardo is an
obvious example of the fetishist category. He once wrote TV fantasy
stories (painfully bad ones, as one might imagine such a semi-literate
would) and had a website showcasing himself dressed in the most absurd
flouncy dresses. After being stung by ridicule, he became obsessed
with proving himself as a "true transsexual", hence the current
post-op fiction and the compulsive denouncing of everyone else as "a
man", "a fetishist", etc.
Having lived in SF for number of years before coming to rural GA, I
was able to move between the "normal" and "trans" world fairly
seamlessly, so I do know about this jealousy of which you speak. Often
it happened that trannies accepted me at first because they though I
was a "fag hag". But often they found out I was trans, the jealousy
came out. eople like Lardo hate anyone who can assimilate as an
ordinary woman.

That's an interesting perspective. Like you, I also do not believe there i
is any real sort of a trans community for pretty much the reasons that you
stated. Those, for whom gender change is an obstacle to overcome (through
SRS or whatever) , move on and those for whom gender change is a lifestyle
end up on daytime TV - or the Mission Hotel.
I'll tell you a story - having moved to a new area a few months ago
I decided to join a few groups and meet some new people.
I went to some straight singles things and some lesbian things and
both have been fun but I also decided to go to a few trans things
as well. I went to 2 events - on the second one I ended up
being in a room full of ... well of Ushers. One told me that she
was living i a halfway house, several were hacking away on their laptops
and not being remotely social during the event which was
at a karaoke night in a bar. The thing is that not a single
one was even remotely female acting or appearing and several
were frankly offensive caricatures of what a woman was. It
was transvestite City. So I walked out and I'm sticking with
straight or Lez events . Most TG events that I've experienced
are little more than a support group for transvestites
so they don't think they're the only one doing it with the
rare newbie TG/TS stuck in there because they don't know where
else to go.
I've never picked up on the jealously thing that you mentioned.
I'll have to think of it more a bit. My rationale for why people
like Thomas Jennifer Usher so what they do was I thought
they were inately misogynistic - they truly hated and/or were
afraid of woman and thought they could gain control of
what they feared by assimilating it - by becoming a woman.
Maybe that's giving too much credit to Thomas. I can't
understand why he takes so much time and effort to pretend to be
a woman and then becomes an obese , smelly and male acting one.
On another note, it amuses me no end how he believes that all
the posters here are Dianne. He just can't wrap his small
lizard-brain around the fact that most people don't like him so
to avoid that issue he makes them all Dianne .

It took me awhile to understand that pretty much all support groups
for TS/TG people were co-opted by the fetishists and
wannabes. Finally I realized that I don't really require support
around issues I don't actually have. It's simple: assimilate or dont.
Nothing else to it, really.

I think the jealousy thing is partly because their fetish is to be
what we are (though we would much rather have simply been born "normal"
females), so they imagine we're experiencing some sort of gender
euphoria. Also partly because we *can* assimilate, and they cannot.
