It looks like a somewhat lame attempt to suggest that surgery does not
really provide any benefits to transsexuals. But the study appears to be
somewhat flawed. First, it uses a specific study instrument, but does not
include information that would allow one to easily evaluate its validity in
this case. Second, there is nothing in the article that indicates that the
lack of differences actually means anything. That is, is there really any
reason to expect defense mechanism to change significantly in certain
categories after surgery.
Simply put, as far as I can tell, this study basically doesn't really prove
anything one way or the other.
